I am on day 28 and
Today i got hit by nightfall at 3.00 am in night. I feel so depressed and unmotivate ,and then watched porn for almost 45 mins but at last i saved my self from masturbation, does it count as relapse? Does i have to reset my counter

    Hi havangenerati,

I believe the convention of the community would be to "reset your counter" if you have fallen away from your goals. That is, if you intended not to view pornography, and then you did, that is a "reset" and a "relapse" if you've completely returned to your old ways.

Ultimately, what matters is reaching your goals and becoming a better person.

I would suggest if you can, instead of fretting about the day count, just decide one way or another. If it feels like a lie to keep it, reset it. If it doesn't and you'd be happy and focused moving forward without resetting, then don't.

Then, focus your energy on what really matters: what was causing your depression and unmotivation, and how did this lead you into pornography? Did the porn fix the problem (I can answer that for you: NO), and if not, what could help the problem instead? Can you see clearly how porn didn't fix your emotional state, and perhaps made it worse? Can you think of some changes to your routine to prevent the same scenario from happening again? Focus on enlightenment and addressing the root cause, forgive yourself, and keep persisting.

    Cheers,
    TJ

  3. If you view porn intentionally for a long period of time then it is considered as relapse. So you have to reset your counter. And nightfalls are neither relapse nor slip-up.

Yesterday, I went to one erotic story site and spend less than 1 minute there.
I felt sensations in brain. So i closed site in less than minute.
    No masturbation happened.

    Is it relapse?

If you watched porn for 45 minutes and your goal is quit porn then yes that is a relapse. As far as nightfall goes, that alone would not be a relapse since it is out of your control.

Less than one minute? I feel like that means you fought off the temptation. Personally I would not count that as a relapse. But you need to know your standards.
