Yes you need more than 3 months, like 6 month or 9 months or 1 years it depend to you as person, but if you relapsed again you need more and more sadely
Because the brain had something call neuroplasticity

You can recover, but you have to be patient. The longer you were addicted, the longer it will take to recover. I was an addict for almost 20 years, and I'm almost fully recovered now after 18 months on NoFap.

  4. It’s never too late. It takes one day at a time. Patience and courage. Determination and commitment. And compassion towards oneself. Yes, you can recover.

Yes, I totally agree. "<whispers>Anyway it's impossible to stop, so it's OK to look at this.</whispers>" The mind can be pretty smooth, huh?

I'm 65, so I had a 50 year habit. I had access to Internet [1] porn fifteen years before Internet service became mainstream. You'll feel relief after a month or two, just like anyone else. In my case, it took ten months before I was able to realize I don't actually want to be addicted to porn. I stopped drinking at about the same time for the same reason (even though I didn't think I had an particular problem with drinking) [2]

So it's totally do-able. Just think of it as a project which might take a year or two.

I'll leave you with two recommendations: the journals of Professor Abraham and John McClean. And a third recommendation: consider starting your own journal in the 30+ forum.

There are many more terrific journals out there. It's just a matter of finding the ones which resonate with you.

    Stay strong,

    -EK

[1] USENET, which used the Internet as a backbone.

    [2] That's what everyone says, right? ;)

14 days is not enough to break a habit that has consumed so much time of your life. At least for me, 14 days of abstinence could trigger a bigger addiction if I went back to it.

Listen I'm no way the expert here but I highly suggest you try SA (Sexaholics Anonymous) and then tell us how it went. Just see if it fits your vibe

  8. If you keep relapsing in the midst of nofap, you'll put your reboot process further and further. You need to treat pmo as a " due or die" situation. It took me almost 6 years of nofap to say "pmo don't have power on me anymore."
If I happen to return, it will be by choice not because of habits or addiction.

  9. I can identify with you.
The binge eating made it worse.

In the beginning (2015 - 2018) I did several bouts where I felt libido and ability to get hard with as little as 30 days of abstinence. But, with the binge eating and relapses to this day everything has gotten worse. Now I can't recover. Even after three years in monk mode.

Hey man, I was just wondering, when you were into your reboots, what all steps did you take, did you just abstained from porn, or did you also take other steps.

I would love to hear your views/journey. I say so because I also have been addicted to this shit for the past 11 years and I need to see the methods that speed up this recovery, because till now, I have only faced defeat.

I also started working out, which I find helps a little bit. Other than that, I just abstain from porn and masturbation. I don't think there is anything else that you can do to speed up your recovery. There are no shortcuts; you just have to take it one day at a time. When you first start NoFap, it might seem like it's not working; however, you will gradually notice more and more benefits as time goes on. It's kind of an exponential process.

I have read about exercising, however, it is only recently that I have realized that people who work out also become strong mentally and end up defeating the demons inside, even if they dont do so the workout and the mental approach of getting on a hard task ends up being helpful. So now if I am hearing you also say it, then it must be true.

  14. I'm still in paws man. I don't even recognize myself anymore.... It's seem like my brain freeze and clarity is gone. I lost my identity and confidence since mid 2018 from cognitive impairment.
