Hi brothers, can someone please explain to me what the chaser effect is? Please include personal experiences if you have any!

  2. When you do pmo and the next day comes then you get heavy urges to go back to pmo. It works like that.

  3. I'm not sure how others might define it, but as I have experienced myself, and as I have read others to use the term, I would define it as follows.

Chaser effect: The "aftershock" craving to have another orgasm fewer than 12 hours after the first one, as if the first had not been fully satisfying; the common desire to reach the sexual climax again within hours of having already done so and before the usual cyclical interval between peaks has elapsed.

For example: A man has sex with his wife at nighttime. He then wakes up craving it again, despite usually going two or more days between. With masturbation, the chaser effect seems more pronounced as the climax is less fulfilling--which means the body seems to crave a higher frequency.

For me, I find the chaser effect to be most prominent if I PMO at night just before I go to sleep and I wake up the next morning ... my P is insanely sensitive and I just feel the need to pop a nut because I get this sense of feeling that it would feel amazing (that feeling is what the chaser effect is)

In my experience, almost every time after relapsing after a longer streak, because of the chaser effect, I would PMO at least three or four times over the span of just a few days before getting back on track. It's basically a few days of extremely strong urges you experience after relapsing.

    WHAT IS IT?

For me, the chaser effect is a combination of two challenges. First off, during those urges, you are remembering how "amazing" the relapse felt and all the "good" times you've had with porn. I would be thinking of all the "new" porn I didn't watch during the, usually short, first relapse.
The second part of the problem is that your willpower, confidence, and self-esteem are damaged after the relapse. When faced with those extreme urges, you don't have the mental support of a long streak you would lose - it's already gone. One more fap couldn't hurt, right? After a while, I would just think that since I am already on day 1, I can just as well enjoy one more day of PMO and start again tomorrow. Then the next day and the next day...
Even if you know what's going on, it can be very challenging to overcome this situation.

    HOW TO FIGHT IT?

I found this combination of strong urges, weakened willpower and a bucket of shitty excuses really difficult to escape. The mindset that helped me is centered about those two thoughts:
Feel how you are losing all the benefits and take it as a reminder of the sorry state your addiction has put you into before you have started your reboot.
Remember, that every PMO session hurts you, even if you have already relapsed three times today, the fourth time is as bad as the first and it will make your reboot more difficult. You have to get back to your reboot, not tomorrow, TODAY and NOW. Otherwise, you will just spiral back to your old shitty habits.

    Hope this helps!

Do you find that this can also occur after a wet dream or fantasizing? possibly to a lesser degree than the urges following sex?

Do you think that this can also happen after a wet dream or fantasizing? Also, does the chaser effect involve any other symptoms like anxiety?

Have you also experienced it after a wet dream or a period of intense fantasizing?

Well, you can expect some anxiety and bad feelings after relapsing or doing something you consider a relapse. However, personally, I see the Chaser effect as one of the multiple negative consequences (including anxiety, etc.) of a relapse. I (and the majority of the community) don't think you should consider a wet dream a relapse and I have never experienced the Chaser as a result.

With the fantasizing, it's hard to say - it will probably depend on your mood and mentality. Don't sweat it bro - if you EXPECT a terrible Chaser effect leading you to a relapse after some fantasizing, you will have it much harder than if you just focus on moving forwards and not repeating the mistake.

i personally have never been in a relationship but i can never understand the need for married people (presumably young) to only have sex a few times a week, later on when you have kids you will never have sex again so like Pope Leo said : Since God has given us the papacy, let us enjoy it.

Why in the world do you think once you have kids you will never have sex again? This is laughable. Most people have kids before 35. So u think after 35 you don’t have sex? Definitely have more sex now than before my kids were born.
