alright, i went to Angola
it's an exotic country and the portuguese language sounds like music to my ears..
before coming to Angola, i only knew that it's a former portuguese colony, that they speak portuguese and that it's in Africa
so here's what i discovered from the trip:
has a young population as 50% is said to be -18
civil war ended in 2002,
famous for oil production and diamonds
it has opened its door for tourism only recently.. lucky me cuz would have been too bad to skip this country on my world tour!
Luanda is its capital and it's an expensive city in term of everything ranging from accomodation to food, considered to be a city of contrast from high buildings and sea ports to ghettos
and the police officer in charge of traffic (dunno how do we call them..) does his job very stylishly! found it cool!!!

there is that tribal village that i don't remember the name but the way the men there killed the oxen was quite impressive, and they have many wives!
another thing: mine fields! visited a center called Bomba Alta that takes care of victims without charging any fees,
Angola has beautiful landscapes, beaches, waterfalls and a canyon.like place called Tunda Vala Fissure but my fav is Pedras Negras, very natural? and peaceful!

 

If I had any, this thread clears out any doubt, the internet is one hell of a place.

Guys like you should have a legacy worldwide, this here is pure Art.

Greetings from lovely Angola -- I started out in the capital Luanda (which I learned is quite an expensive city for a backpacker on the local currency the Kwanza), then I took the road south toward some of the beach resorts along the coast. The views are beautiful there and the land is still relatively underdeveloped. I took a boat ride up the Cuanza river and a safari in the Quicama national park. I ended my trip with a visit to the deserts along the Namibian border and a stunning view of Epupa Falls!

 

Just back from Armenia. Not the best time to be travelling there I'll admit. There's a general atmosphere of tension, on top of the anxiety and sadness that's prevalent around the world these days.

My trip brought me into the capital Yerevan for a few days, where I learned about the history of the country. Armenia was the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as its official religion, and ancient monasteries are dotted throughout the land. The Armenian genocide looms large in their past and it was important, but difficult, to visit the museum dedicated to this.

As always on my trips, I searched out the best hiking routes and Armenia is rich in these. It was a delight to walk on mountain paths by beautiful monasteries and hermits' stone retreats, meet the friendly and warm people in the countryside and enjoy the stunning views.

It took me longer than I'd planned to make it to Armenia. One of the things I really like about this challenge is that I don't need to start back at the beginning after a reset but can continue from where I left off. Lots of the world left to see!!

 

I visited the Bahamas for my twelfth country.

The Bahamas are only 50 miles from Florida, so I took a ferry from Florida out to the west side of the Bahamas. I enjoyed the ride on the ocean. I went diving when I got there, and saw an amazing assortment of fishes. Afterward, I checked out some of the local cuisine. I found it delightful. I stayed overnight at a local hotel, which had an astounding view of the green water and the land with all the beautiful trees and plants.

All in all, I found the Bahamas stunning. I loved this trip.

 

back from Antigua and Barbuda,
had to go to Antigua first in order to get to Barbuda..
so didn't know anything abt the islands..
now i know the population is abt 90000 only! they speak english, and houses are colorful, saw a pink church!
some slavery history but i didn't go through details..
in 2017, a big hurricane hit Barbuda.. twas quite devastating but the beach still looks beautiful with its white sand.. saw Fregate birds too!
and tasted the famous black pineapple, very sweet indeed!!!
all in all, twas a nice trip

 

I'm celebrating my longest streak on NoFap with a trip to Antigua and Barbuda. Looks like I just missed a few others of y'all. I joined an "open safari" trip outside the resorts and through the local communities. We visited the world's only pink church, a pineapple farm, a rugged beach stop with beautiful blue water and a little beach bar, and ended in the capital city of St. Johns!

 

Trip report on my visit to Australia - a big country to cover in a single trip! As I often do when I travel, I opted for quality over quantity and chose a couple of places to focus on rather than rushing from one place to another. In Australia this was one week in Tasmania in the south and one week in Daintree National Park north of Cairns on the east coast.

Arrived in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania and spent the day exploring, including a trip to the wonderfully named Museum of Art New and Old and a delicious seafood dinner afterwards. From there it was on to the hiking, or rather bushwalking, trails and over the next few days hiked to Organ Pipes, Cradle Mountain and Bay of Fires, and three days at Freycinet. Highlights were viewings of wombats, penguins, platypus, and of course the Tasmanian Devil.

Up in the north I immersed myself in the rainforest, starting at the park's discovery centre and heading into the rainforest via its aerial walkways and viewing platforms. Had a cruise up the Daintree River, and then a hike through the forest alongside a small river with waterfall after waterfall. After that I headed to Cape Tribulation where the rainforest meets up with the Great Barrier Reef and spend a couple of days along the coast.

A wonderful trip all in all.

 

I went to Bahrain.
There was a Grand Prix, and while visiting I went to a concert. That was enjoyable.
Next, I went to see a 400-year-old tree called the Tree of Life. No one is sure how the tree survives. This tree is visited by ~50,000 tourists a year.
Adhari Park was nice. This is an amusement park and was a lot of fun for my stepson, wife, and me.
Bab Al Bahrain Souq is a collection of shops (that is what a Souq is), so we went to shop for groceries and souvenirs.
There are two Aquaparks in Bahrain. We decided not to visit one, but we checked them out and they seem amazing. Maybe next time we go, we will stop in.
Al Areen Wildlife Park is a zoo and breeding center for endangered animals. We loved seeing the animals. There were many endangered animals.
Bahrain National Museum was extremely interesting. We saw a rich collection of archaeology artifacts.
We checked out Bahrain Fort, and archaeology site. This was interesting and exciting for such an old place.
We went to a mall with an Arabian design. This was nice, and we shopped a lot.
The restaurants were great. Throughout our visit to Bahrain, we enjoyed many kinds of delicious food.

All in all, the trip to Bahrain was exciting and wonderful.

 

Trip report from Austria.

A little different one this time. As I was in Austria and it's December, I decided on a skiing holiday. I stayed in the Alpine village of Fulmes where a bus connected it to half a dozen resorts along a short stretch of road. Each day I tried a different one, gradually moving to more challenging runs as the week progressed and I felt more capable on the skis. I only ski once every few years so it takes me a bit of time to get the feel of it again. By the end of the week I was glacier skiing at the Stubai Glacier and venturing into the easy parts of the terrain park. Beautiful blue skies, fresh powder snow, and gorgeous vistas every day! And I finished off each day feeling pleasantly fatigued and sitting around a fireplace enjoying the glow on everyone's faces and their good company. A great way to spend a week.

 

Checking in from Argentina -- I took a bit of a grand tour starting out with the beaches near Buenos Aires at Mar del Plata, heading out to Cordoba with its large student population, then some whale watching in Puerto Madryn, chocolate tasting in Bariloche, an excursion to the world's southernmost city Ushuaia, and glacier hikes around El Calafate and in glaciers national park. Then, I stopped in Mendoza for a relaxing trip to wine country before visiting Iguazu Falls and finally returning to Buenos Aires!

 

I have not been here on the site in a while. I have visited three nations: Bangladesh, Barbados, and Belarus.

First, Bangladesh:
I watched a video called, "Travel Bangladesh - Pros and Cons."
In Bangladesh, people are very hospitable and kind. They always offer to help and welcome you into their homes.
Bangladesh is very cheap to live in, although if you are a foreigner you pay much more. People will cheat you and rip you off if you are alone, every time. You will pay three or ten times the price of a local.
Law enforcement and medical help are very shoddy and terribly slow, so do not get hurt or have any crimes done against you.
I had to buy a SIM card before going, because I could not get one there without a mountain of paperwork and a long wait, if even I could get one at all in Bangladesh.
Nobody speaks English there, so I had to use Google Translate; nonetheless, it was fun.
A lot of the food is spicy, so with my gastronomical condition, I needed to search the menus a little to get food that was good for me, but it was good.
Bangladesh was the hardest country I have traveled, but I enjoyed the challenge and the trip. The people, again, were wonderfully helpful and kind.

Barbados:
This is a very beautiful country. The water and everything looks wonderfully. There was a very warm welcome with a steel band and men on stilts. Barbados was better than I thought. The hotel was lovely, with terraces and a great overlook of the beach.
I went on a walking tour of Bridgetown, which was nice. The guide was very knowledgeable.
The sea is very warm to swim in, even at night; it was like a bath. I tried waterskiing, which was exciting, though harder than it looks.
There were lush, gorgeous gardens with many flowers and fruits. I saw a monkey, which was fantastic.
I would recommend Barbados: it is safe and easy. I felt safe from corona the whole time. It was a great trip.

Belarus:
I first visited the capital, Minsk. It was nice.
Brest is another prominent city, with a lot of older, distinguished buildings. I enjoyed looking at all the old architecture. There were some houses that were high-end and very nice, so I even took a minute to view them.
We looked for bears in the woods, but did not see any. There are wild boar as well, but we did not see them either. Hiking was very enjoyable. We did see some rare birds, I think.
We went to some heritage festivals and saw how Belarus was in old times. That was fun.

I enjoyed my visits to all three of these countries. The best was Barbados, but the other two were also well worth going, at least for me. If you are brave, try all three. If not, go to Barbados and Belarus.
