Day 25. The urges are strong today. I had a wet dream and caught myself laying in bed fantasizing again. Avoiding this in the future is going to be key to success.

Day 14 in progress. I'm almost a hobbit again!
Couldn't find the time to check in the last couple of days, but I am working on this.
Also, late happy new year everyone! Wishing you all the best!

Awesome for moving through procrastination! May I ask what BRACE stands for and where to find more about it?

    Checking in for today:

I was blessed with a refreshing night's sleep, but along with that came vivid sexual dreams. I woke up a little frustrated that this good night's sleep also came with triggers. I took a while to work through my emotions in my morning routine.

Dreams tend to be difficult triggers for me to deal with because the brunt of that immersive, emotionally charged, unfiltered vision hits me before I'm even fully conscious.

What are some rationalizations, affirmations, thoughts, or practices to use to respond to triggering dreams in a moment of vulnerability?

  5. Hi Brothers, please read this post and set yourself free.

Today no check-in from me, as a matter of fact, I will not be checking in anymore. Nor will I count my days. I will even leave NoFap in one week time. Not because I have given up, but because I have escaped, and you can do too. This method will change you: SPAM REMOVED (spam code #001) - REPORT TO MODERATION (took me about 8 hours to read, but I'm no native English speaker so you can probably do it faster, and it is completely free).

I am not saying NoFap is bad, and that you won't benefit from NoFap. There are people that benefit from it and have escaped the PMO prison. But many others don't benefit from it, struggling for months only to relapse again and again, never freeing themselves. I know this is because of the brainwashing that they fell victim to. It's all about getting through to your mind that porn is a poison, or a prison, or whatever you want to call it. These 'urges' or 'cravings' everyone is talking about are not urging you to watch porn, they are the result of your previous PMO-session. Porn creates a void, it doesn't fill one! Watching porn will feed the little monster inside of you, it is poison and should thus be avoided. You don't take poison to overcome the effects of poison!

The source I mentioned above will explain this far better than I can. Once you understand this, you understand why it doesn't make sense to count your days. Or to change all aspect of your life in order to battle PMO (since you are not battling, you are not giving anything up, you are simply escaping from a poisonous addiction). You don't have to follow a seemingly random list of 'tips' to beat PMO (although I find the 10 tips mentioned here to be good for your life nevertheless and I will continue following them, but not for the sake of beating PMO, just for the sake of having a better life).

My point is: don't try to beat this addiction on willpower and by forcing yourself to count days and follow tips. Beat this addiction by learning about it through the provided link and start to see clearly: porn is a prison, and you can escape easily.

Perhaps some of you don't agree with what is written here or don't want to believe that quitting this addiction is easy, providing you follow the instructions of the source and deeply understanding it. Or you don't want to believe me since I reset only a few days ago, and that is fine. Just search the internet and find that everyone who reads the book benefits from it, stating how they wished they read it sooner and how it is changing lives. I am staying on here for another week or so and would be happy to openly discuss it and share my own viewpoints on this topic. I just hope that many brothers will read the book and set themselves free.

Read the book. Set yourself free.

    One more day.

My fellowship, good to see you all alive and sound :). Today, after a period of reflexion i decided to quit nofap. not permanently but for a while. i´m feeling the same kind of pressure i felt when i broke my 173 days streak. the pressure of getting back on the streak, back on the wagon, ASAP. and this was one of the reasons why i binged when i broke that streak. now i´m feeling that same kind of pressure after resetting this last streak.

maybe because i´m the creator of this thread and i feel i must be an "example" and keep my shit together. but this pressure is not helping me. i have not relapsed nor intend to obviously, but i need a break. not a break from the reboot, not a break from nofap lifestyle, but a break from counting the days.

unfortunately, this challenge, as all others, works around days and streaks, so i don´t feel right being here without the counter running. in fact, without the counter, i don´t know where i am in the quest of the ring. so i´m gonna take a break from the challenge and i will resume it when i feel the pressure to "comply" is gone. i will stay accountable with my AP though, and keep the starting date of this streak to resume later on.

i don´t know how much time i will need, and i fact this situation gives me the sense that maybe running this thread can become overwelming when i´m down. so i will nominate a new moderator to this challenge :). candidates may contact me through private message.

to all the brothers and sisters, please keep going and follow your reboot strategy. don´t worry about me, i will be back :). keep the Fellowship together. see you soon!!! :)

    Uruk-Hai, never die!

I am PMO-free in 2021! I want to keep it that way. I am too old for that sh*t.

About to go workout and trying to get back into fasting and keto. Today I prayed and stopped to just breathe for half a minute.

    Let's make this our year!

Wow you got enlightened after 8 hours of studies meditation! That's great!
Just a piece of advice - do not underestimate the value of accountability to brotherhood as well as supporting your realization through long stretch of time because people often overestimate their memory and ability to go all the way alone without drowning in the river of forgetfulness. The ring of PMO was carved into your brain by numerous relapses/indulgencies and it takes time to destroy it for good and rewire your brains connections. You better stay and track your recovery progress to ensure you stay clean, accoutable and vigilant. But if you decided to leave-it's your life, your choise and your will. Wish to stay enlighted through life the way you are now !

It's very good that you're honest about your situation, because the amount of time and effort you put into this thread is really awesome, but I understand that it just might be too much. I don't think I would be able to take your position, since I already have a difficult time checking in every day. And I also agree with you about counting the days. Sometimes I really like doing it, but sometimes it adds more pressure.

Hey man,the counting of days is good if you treat it in the right way. Hear I mean that counting of the days is not an aim but rather the checkpoints on your health recovery process from the damage inflicted by PMO so that you can advice newbies of how to pass certain tricky points in their process of recovery from PMO.
Yes I noticed some guys passed a long way by just Check in day.. which is not helping anyone but for the inspiration that it's possible to stay clean for this long,it's a bit like a boasting and pride because your counter shows that too.(and pride is one of the mortal sins and some even say that it is the mother of all sins)
Instead we should ask ourselves how we can help those sincerely trying to destroy the ring by doing more than just lazy checkin in day ..

day 54! Checking in before ravaging the bed with a well deserved sleep session! Meditated, worked out and felt pretty good the whole day!

  15. Haha yeah, you really woke me up when you mentioned I should study (more) on the reboot! Thanks for your reply. I think you are right to say that we are stronger together than we are alone on this journey. I do however believe that by being here, 'the little monster' in me is still telling me that I am addicted to porn, whereas I feel that I am not because I now feel that I understand the problem, the poison, the prison and how to escape. I will give your advice some more thought tomorrow though ;)

    Day 2

To feel the urges so early is unusual, but I’ve come to learn that these moments pass quickly. I’m so pleased this challenge offers a sense of achievement with each tier, as I tend to abstain better when I can see progress!

I binged today: I masturbated twice. I have not watched porn in months, but I keep masturbating. I do it at least a couple times for every time I make love to my wife. It really takes the power out of our sex life, and my intimacy suffers a lot. I feel demoralized and discouraged.

Time to get up and try again!

Hey @RiseToGreatness , not only is this forum you created the best forum out there (esp for LOTR fans) but you yourself are an inspiration for being our anchor (like a dungeon master). You are also a phenomenal inspiration because you are using your own relapses to grow, and that is the main thing. In some ways it is the Orcs on this challenge that are the most inspiring because of their resilience, getting back on the wagon instead of falling further away. This amazing forum that you set up has never been a competition, except within our own mind with ourselves, so there should be no pressure from the Fellowship, please come back soon!

Thanks for this man. Read Allen Carr to stop smoking years ago and never touched a cigarette since. Just making us aware of how there is zero pleasure in smoking was enough. Not sure it translates seamlessly over to P, Lust or Sex addiction though, as these are intimacy disorders, with deep and complex causes e.g our society is still hyper-sexualised, whereas nicotine, drug and alcohol addiction are no longer promoted as such. I'm going to read the hack-book as you recommend but will stay on this forum regardless for the shared goals, camaraderie, support and accountability which go a long way to getting to the roots of and help us all end this addiction for good.

p.s. the correlations with this journey and the legend of the ring make it an ideal forum also - thanks to @RiseToGreatness
