Hey guys i am 16 yo male straight and i wannna ask you if its bad to listen to sad music in flatline like billie eilish ?

  2. 1. I think it is a not a good idea.
    2. I was listening to Everybody knows from Singrid (Justice League Song) regularly and was feeling miserable as ever.

    Reason:

    3. I think that if you are a porn addict, it is not conscious decision. (you don't want to be a porn addict)

    4. People are looking for feeling good chemical reaction in their brain.

    5. I usually feel even more miserable after listening to sad music.

    6. Therefore I am more likely to fail.

    7. Consider watching Christian Contemporary Music. Simply because community can really help you:

    Good Luck

    Thanks buddy i appreciate it☺️

  4. You don't have to listen to sad music. It's amplifying sadness, stress. Listen to something positive instead.

Listen to more positive music to make you feel better. You have nothing from listening sad music. Sad music in a sad or bad mood makes you feel more worse than before.

Even though I think that what everyone is saying is correct and you should focus on more 'happy' positive music, I think its OK if you listen to sad music.
It is Ok to connect with those kind of feelings.

I am on day 56 now, but when I was flatlining depression stroked me pretty hard. But I didnt escape that sh*t, I got my earbuds turn off every light in my house and locked myself up in my room, just listening to some sad music and crying. Guess what? But I didnt PMO!
I think it is OK to do it if you can express yourself through that instead of jerking off.

PS. Idk who is that billie elish, I listened to REAL sad music like The Cure! Or really emo sh*t like Seconhand Serenade. A total kick in the balls

  9. What the fuck?! people here type rubbish!
First of all, "sad" music is quite a subjective term so you guys can't say if it's "good" or "bad" because it arrays and depends on the person tastes and traits.
Second, listening to "sad" music presents your current emotions and gives you a space to introspect and process them which is very positive and even vital function in order to sustain healthy life.
Don't force yourself to listen to "happy" music while you really sad (unless you want to shift your emotional state for that time).
That's called denial. and it won't help you heal.
I've heard about a research that says emotions can't be differential muted, if you choose not to feel "bad" emotions. you'll subsequently suppress all your feeling, which can result a numb emotional state.
Please do listen to music, express and share your feelings (good or bad) with whom you feel safe with.
Here's a great artist I like to listen to when I'm sad: https://soundcloud.com/owsey/owsey-remnants-of-departed-days

If I start listening to one of two bands: Radiohead or Sparklehorse, then you know I’m depressed. It’s probably not good for me, haha.

I guess if a song makes you feel sad, it's because it's bringing up something that's inside of you that wants to come out. And that's good cause it's a release of that feeling and you might have a lil cry etc and feel a bit better.

I guess the key is not to dwell or indulge in that sad feeling, but just see it as a sad moment and then move on

When I feel sad or I feel like I'm having urges I listen to learn to fly, walk, best of you by foo fighters. It reminds me that I'm in a recovery path.

Nothing wrong with sad music. I listen to sad music sometimes if I'm in the mood for it. Listen to the music you want to.

  17. I’m seeing a lot of people here saying that it’s a bad idea, but it just depends on the person. Sad music helps me cope with stressful times and has become one of my healthier coping mechanisms. If it helps you get through stressful times and helps you cope, then I see nothing wrong with it. Hell even when I’m feeling good, I listen to sad music because of the stories that people can tell through music. I don’t know you’re music taste personally, but I’m a big rap and R&B person with a little bit of rock and pop thrown in there. If you want any suggestions for music, happy or sad then HMU I’m happy to give you some suggestions.

I think they all right so far... Don't force the happy vibes, your spirit will resent ya for it. But don't jack off your sadness either lol, I used to bump lil peep for days and days on low streaks and I'd usually be worse off for it, gotta have that balance.

  19. I think it’s because your dopamine burned out, not actually depressed.
    1. Drink lots of water
    2. Get Outsid, fresh air
    3. Force yourself to be active. Play a sport.

then on about five days if you don’t PMO you’ll start to feel a difference.
