I think i need to just stick to the porn addiction forum since I am not rebooting, sometimes there is a conflct in interest so think it is better if i just stay in that forum

I still may visit from to time to help with porn addiction questions my friend, just probably won;t respond to reboot threads so still will be around, stay strong.

    Hey.

How exactly do you differentiate between the two? I thought rebooting was more or less the same as abstaining, no? Or are you treating rebooting as abstaining fully (e.g. no P/M/O)?

i don;t plan on abstaining from M and O, that is how i am different then rebooters who feel they need to abstain from it, for me just getting rid of P permanently is my goal, rebooters i think is alot deeper

Ok I see. But have you considered that it might not be possible, or at least very difficult, to abstain from P whilst maintaining M/O? I am not saying that you can't do it, I just believe that those who have struggled with P, in particular PMO, in the past may have formed a natural connection between P,M and O in their minds. And that connection may make it very difficult to abstain from P whilst maintaining M/O; you may find that M/O increases you desire for P and thus make abstaining from P more difficult.

I don't see anything wrong with not abstaining from M/O - I see them as healthy if you can maintain them in a healthy way. But I personally believe that it may be difficult to abstain only from P and not M/O unless you have already went through a full reboot (which you very well may have!).

Nothing wrong with abstaining I agree, if it works for you to for it. If I can't success this way, then I will reboot. The good thing with here is you always have support and options where you didn't before.

True. Just be careful man, sometimes you can rationalize something and never even realise it. Good luck!

That is a reboot, it's called 'easy mode' (no idea why, it is not easy!). The three basic rebooting modes are P = 'easy mode', PM = 'normal mode', and PMO = 'hard mode'

PM is normal mode? I would think that MO would be normal mode......maybe not.

Interesting.... I suppose it's subjective at the end of the day. I was always under the impression that the main aim of NoFap was recovery from porn addiction.

Exactly, that's why giving up porn and masturbation is normal mode. All three modes require you to give up porn, easy mode is just that, in normal mode you have to stop masturbation too, and in hard mode you have to additionally stop any orgasm, including no sex with your real-life partner

Easy mode is probably the hardest bc you’re doing behaviors you did when looking at P

That's what I found too. I opted for 'normal mode' in the end because, although I think there is nothing wrong with masturbation, it kept drawing me back to porn use. I'm not saying that will happen to you @bulldawg1970, but it is what happened to me. Experiment and report back.

My bad I'm an idiot. I forgot that "PM" mean abstaining from PM, rather than allowing for PM. I thought it meant allowing PM for some strange reason.
