I am in the middle of what is called PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome). While the brain is recovering I get periods of high confidence and libido, and also periods of the exact opposite.

Tonight was the first time since I quit PMO in August 2019 (I relapsed a few times since then) that I was able to come two times in the same session.

In June, I couldn't maintain an erection during a handjob!

Congratulations for your success! But I may like to be enlightened from you by knowing
What were your paws symptoms? And how long it took you to start getting better ?
As I'm currently in for about 10-months no Porn, and 6-month no MO except wet dream. But unfortunately I'm severely battling with PAWS till date.

Thanks! My symptoms are mostly debilitating mood swings and inability to concentrate, from crippling depression to the exact opposite. Also erection problems but they didn't bother me as much. I'm still suffering from the cognitive symptoms, if I orgasm too often I get intense symptoms.

As long as I don't masturbate, fantasize, or use drugs to force an erection and orgasm, the valley doesn't get too low when it comes. But it will still come regardless, I think. Just less intense.

When I was single I got better in 4 months but now I'm at around 8 months in and I still haven't experienced stuff I saw at 4 months single, like music starting to sound better, or me being confident every single day. Now it's very much a process of going up and down.

I'm sorry to hear that. Our timelines are all different. But one thing I've read about PAWS is that in pretty much every single case, the brain will completely recover eventually. There's only possible permanent damage for heavy meth or cocaine abusers. But no studies have followed heavy drug addicts for a decade either, so there's no telling what's really permanent.
