Yep only yourself can do it, if we ask and hope someone will come and remove our addiction it will be like cheat.
I would just say that God is not evil so he wil never punish you, if he can see everything and know everything then he will know how you feel and how you are working for delete you addiction, right?

 

How I see it, this is a test from God. He wants you to overcome this problem so that you can get even more reward when you have stopped. And every time you pray for forgiveness it shall be forgiven.

Just remember why you want to stop. You clearly are God conscious which is good, use this as a strong motivation to stop this habit once and for all.
