I don't feel like I am human

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by sfmark12, Dec 22, 2018.

  1. I have been rebooting since 2016. I am in a better place than I ever was. I have a job, I am financially stable, I am going to school next year, I will get a car soon(end of the year for sure). I am confident to say I left porn behind September 2017, I have not watched it since and do not plan on going back. I have been fighting masturbation since and been very good at resisting. Now to the meat of this thread, I have not masturbated consciously since February of this year. And I say that because the past months I have been waking up masturbating and ejaculating without me even knowing. I thought it was part of the reboot process so I tried to cope with it until it stopped, to this day it has not stopped. I don't feel like I am human when I wake up to me masturbating. It is like my brain is doing a last resort to go back to old routes. Today it happened again and I couldn't come back to consciousnesses to stop it. And I just do not feel like I am me...at all. It's like I am just on autopilot, can't feel anything, don't want to look people in the eyes, don't want to stand up straight...this sexsomnia is ruining me. I do not want this to last forever. I like looking alive. Any support is appreciated. I should probably mention(even though I really don't want to) that I do sleep naked, that could be a reason why it happens frequently, but at the same time it should not. I've started sleeping naked a while back and it never happened...and now it does.

Naked sleeping is unrelated, I am sure of it. In fact, it is generally regarded to be a healthy, positive choice. I sleep naked too and I do not find it has any correlation to any issues I have with PMO.

Regarding your main issue here, I can throw no light on it by way of explanation or solution. It is very unfortunate, especially considering your impressive self discipline, demonstrated over a considerable time. Have you checked on the internet for any general advice on this phenomenon?

  3. I have. I looked up couple posts about it. Some people say just keep living with it until it fades away like wet dreams. One guy told me to just wear pants with a belt.

Hmm. Well, those suggestions seem completely unhelpful!

I have been reading this page. Perhaps it will contain some of the answers you need buddy...

  5. Thank you! I just skimmed it and I can relate to some of the causes, like sleep deprivation because of my work schedule is on and off it kind of messes it. Sometimes I feel stressful, because I stress myself out a lot, people don't.

There are things like obstructive sleep apnea, that you would not be aware of, that could be the reason for it also. I hope you can get some effective treatment.

Just get a cock cage (like a cb6000) & add an Albert piercing into it. Wear it before you go to bed & once you are fully waken up stop wearing it. I made myself a DIY cock cage, as I have the same issue. It works wonders to stop sexsomnia. Amazon isn't in my country so I had to make a DIY one. Your welcome in advance. :)

Dude this also happens to me occasionally, but I think I've figured out how to stop it. Firstly, make sure your not drinking anything an hour or two before you go to sleep. Also, make sure you are not looking at any NSFW material before sleep and dont fantasise either. These two things have massively helped me in dealing with this problem. Maybe you sleeping naked might have some sort of link with this (ie your penis rubbing against the sheets or something), so try sleeping with trousers and boxers on. Best of luck.

OP was from 2018, would be interested in an update. I see the author is still with us with recent forum activity..

But this is an important point overall, we can do a lot of things on autopilot including our jobs, education etc. let alone something as deep as our sexuality. This is why physical interventions are limited. Frankly a lot of people sleep walk through life, so why not with their sexuality? It's completely consistent with the rest of life. The conventional definition of "success" has little to do with it, even a healthy sex life and relationship. It would just mean they have healthy but unconscious vanilla relationships, it doesn't address the autopilot aspect.

  16. Now in 2021, it comes in stages. Sometimes yes sometimes no. Right now it hasn't happened in almost two weeks so I'm hoping it stays like that. Also to mention are you saying its okay for sexsomnia to happen?

This sounds to me like the most realistic option, if you actually want to stop the behavior.

Oh no, the opposite - I'm saying what's considered normal by much of society, other compulsive behaviors are exactly that - still compulsive. It may not do as much damage or obvious damage but it's still addictive.

I'm saying we should try not to be on autopilot with even the other stuff.

2022 now, I have been P free for 80 days, haven't consciously done any M in that same amount of time, at the same time though even if I wear pants with a belt, my body will start acting out on itself. For anyone that has dealt with this or is dealing with this, does it go away overtime? Do you have to do anything that can help with this besides not drinking water and not fantasizing before bed? If anyone that has overcome this could tell me what to do to get out of this scenario that would be awesome. Thanks for the replies.
