32 years old - PIED - No Morning Wood - Scaring Myself?

Discussion in 'Porn-Induced Sexual Dysfunctions' started by Deleted Account, Feb 10, 2021.

  1. So, I am in a weird position in my life.

I'm 32 and have been on and off NoFap for years. I'm trying to not let this scare myself or anyone as - I have read other people's posts and have absorbed them quite often.

Maybe even posting this is just a bad decision for myself?

I've been self analyzing everything. To note, I take Viibryd at 40mg (antidepressant) for anxiety. Although, not sure how it is treating me right now.

When I sleep in REM sleep and wake up, yes I still have an erection but when I wake up it doesn't take long for it to go away. Additionally, I have been without an actual morning wood for quite sometime - I know the total time. I've had no wet dreams on streaks of 22 days or 44 days or since I was 19 when I started fapping. I don't know what to think of this. My anxiety? Pretty bad. I'm lonely and scared to lose my family as an only child.

I had my testosterone checked and my total testosterone is 473.4 mg/dl

My free testosterone is 12.9 pg/ml

I'm looking at every chick I see wondering why I don't have a sporadic erection from looking at them. I remember getting more of them when I was younger. I'm truly scared right now.

Streaks of 44 or 22 days won't cut it. You have to forget about sexual stimulation for an extended period of time and focus on improving your overall health. You have to be ready for a long battle as there's no quick fix.

I read of a guy that went up to 18 months hard mode before he started getting regular and lasting morning wood. He also had just one wet dream in his first 6 months.

Personally, I haven't had morning wood in the last 5 or so years and I've never had wet dreams as I started fapping pretty early. I'm on day 40 and beginning to get weak morning wood that disappears quickly or once I stand up. I have anxiety as well. I stopped taking meds because I don't know what side-effects they may have on my libido and in general. I've alternatively been working out consistently and paying close attention to my diet. It is slowly getting better.

  3. So basically be ready to be single for a long time? No dating apps etc? Nothing? How do we re-wire then?

There's no solid science to these things yet so I can only speak from personal experience and that of others.
I attempted the "rewire" route initially. I actually haven't watched Porn since July 2020. For the 6 months between July 2020 and January 2021, I had a girl I tried rewiring with. I don't believe it did much for me in terms of recovery.
I switched to hard mode at the start of this year and I'm seeing benefits much faster.
I believe one has to go through hard mode until they start seeing improvements (Like consistent/better morning wood, less anxiety, etc) before attempting a "rewire".
It's like a broken bone. You have to let it heal to a great degree before attempting to re-learn normal activities with that limb.

    I'm 23. I started at age 11.

  6. So you've been pmo-ing since age 11. Do you ever feel like a zombie as far as libido goes?

Yeah I’m familiar with the zombie/soulless feeling. I’ve had zero libido until recently.

Side note; Ironically had my first ever wet dream last night :emoji_persevere:

I'm also currently around day 40 no PM, day 15 no PMO, not for the first time since I started NoFap many years ago. I can speak from my own experience to say that after periods of rewiring and rebooting, I was able to start dating again, and found a strong and more natural sexual energy. I am currently PIED with minimal morning wood, and even less libido.

BUT as frustrating and worrying as it is, you have to try to persevere. I am currently dating a girl and using meds to help with the ED, but more time is needed to feel the benefits of a reboot. I am also about the same age, with a 18yr habit of PMO addiction.

Once the sexual energy and libido returns, the battle then is to contain it and channel it in the right way. That is something you have to prepare for, and basically remember the reasons why you wanted to NoFap, and what positive changes you wish to gain in your life.

Know this feeling well during the flatline stage. Right now we're in the limbo waiting room for the next stage. All you can do is focus your mind on other things, not worry, and have faith ;-)

  9. So the medication it's for ED issues? Has it helped you?

Honestly, I see a therapist for sex addiction and seeing a psychiatrist. I'm very scared about all of this and I just don't know if I want to live anymore sometimes. I like bigger women but even had one at my house in October - couldn't perform and also low key ashamed of my taste. Which has probably caused me to turn to Porn.

@WestCoast i'm sorry you feel that way, but believe me when I say there are many reasons to be positive. PMO (like any addiction) is a real challenge once it has you, but there are countless former addicts out there who will tell you that it can be overcome.

The ED meds help partially, but they are no substitute for genuine arousal. In my experience, the meds help me get to a place where I am more confident of my sexual performance, but they can make it difficult to achieve orgasm (orgasm needs arousal). I would love one day to not need them, but certainly in the past when i've managed to reboot into the right mindset, they were far less needed. Because youre not a sex obsessed 14 year old with hormones raging through your system? I see this so much here...i dont know where you all get this idea that ALL men without PMO issues get raging boners every time they see a halfway pretty girl, and theres something very wrong if you dont...? How do you know?

  12. Because I am probably obsessing over the entire thing. I'm VERY obsessive. So my issues are probably more mental than physical.
