Instagram is the new porn

Two days ago I was on a bus next to a mother and, i would say, about a 6 year old daughter. I glanced over and the daughter was scrolling on her phone through Insta, landing again and again on what was, I guess, some celebrity child whose every hair was in place, was fully made up like an adult and smiling and posing, etc. What in the living fuck is going to happen to that little girl when she starts looking in the mirror and seeing an ordinary human being?

 

Deleted Instagram 3 weeks ago and don’t is it at all. The reasons to keep it fail in comparison to the reasons to delete it.

“but I like looking at pics of my hobbies” - use Google or a message board.

“but I want to keep in touch with friends” - really? Send them a text or fucking call them

There’s probably a half dozen other excuses I made in my head to keep Instagram, but no matter why I went on, it always went back to my dark place.

 

i created an insta account solely for the babes, now i ahve over 1500 accounts i follow, babes from tinder and elsewhere, only fans babes, naughty girls, some escorts, inter racial couples i jerk off to , and it keeps growing and growing but then i dont have the time or patience or will to go through every one of these pages every day so what is the point... often i wonder about deleting it all but i never do...

 

I'm on all the social networks for work, unfortunately I have to be "popular" in order to keep my job. If I didn't, I wouldn't bother with any of them.

The only social media I use now on a regular basis is Marco Polo. No explore page. No ads. No pictures from people I don't know. If they add those I'll leave. :-( I also use nofap. Which is kind of a social media but overall not as triggering as the others.

 

Social media is all bullshit... Facebook owns some virtual reality console which they took to some expo in Japan to see how it would work with virtual reality porn....all social media is, is fake news, porn, and meme's....society is going to shit and people are the reason why

 

I deleted all social media...easy after a week didn't care forcit any more the other aspects of my life were way more important then social media

 

It’s amazing. Most people miss it/feel they can’t live without it for the first week and then forget they even had it.

It’s like white bread. Empty calories.

 

I truly, truly wish I could delete Instagram, not because it is triggering to me at all, I never go on the Explore page and I have everyone but my like 10 friends muted on the 400 people I follow, but because it wreaks havoc on my mental health due to an acute case of severe comparisonitis. This app destroys my psyche and yet I cannot delete it because as a graphic designer and type designer it is my only source of exposure outside Behance and I need exposure to get clients and get paid. In my visual field, if you don't have Insta, you're screwed, period. I also have a personal account but there's literally only my friends who follow me and I'm considering putting it on private, and I also only follow my friends on here. At least I'm thankful I don't fall into the trap of following people that arouse me, but it's way worse actually, it's people that bring me down. If I could delete the app I'd do it instantly

 

the hardest part of deleting social media is thinking that social media is good

 

apart from the profiles of inter racial which i have because of my obsession with it, kink or not, i have always added women because of the possibility of talking to them meeting women and having sex , through instagram facebook , a second facebook profile etc... i have 1500 on instag and 1000 plus on facebook and some girls i approached even accepted sex for money , but obviously i cant or wont spend the ridiculous amount of time needed to through every profile every day or week...its just not possible or healthy even so much time looking at a screen for things that arent worth much except a pretty face body etc i often think about deleting it all or almost all ... but never have the power to let go of the contacts...

 

If you’re quitting drinking and it’s difficult, you probably shouldnt go into bars (unless you work at the bar).

It’s not different from a porn addict quitting instagram, youtube, or whatever other triggering apps that are detrimental to you.

 

assuming there is a porn addiction... tis week i was told by a tsgirl with a degree in neurosciences that there is no such thing and its people who just need therapy or behaviour counselling. by themselves anyone should be able to use these things... i get your point, as far as insta and facebook its really a compendium of babes and women and possible laids really , with 2 facebook sauna/ sex club groups... difficult to determine whats detrimental or not... is it the app usage, the time on it, the amount of stuff one sees , etc

 

Agree....but that's the point the internet is a addiction...apps are a addiction, social media is an addiction...everything in moderation...but it doesn't mean shit out there doesn't harm you they have a whole documentary on net flix " the social dilemma" that tells u how addictive and bad social media is....Instagram is a bunch or 20 year old some older some younger who try to show you the "soft core" versions of their only fans in hopes you will go sign up...yes everything was good until "ads" then the corporate greed. they try to sell me stuff I whispered to my wife while my phone was in another room. But they know exactly what I want...Facebook and instangram is ran by the same people who are trying to create virtual reality porn with occlus rift...they have algorithms on purpose to fuck ur brain up

 

I mean, we can talk/debate about the science and terminology all day, and quote people far smarter than I am...

But if you’re trying to stop watching porn, and Instagram is either

a) triggering you to go watch it, or
b) acting acting as a replacement to porn

it’s detrimental to your goal of quitting porn.

 

You see what you focus on, that's it. My youtube recomendations even managed to be pretty toxic and full of lust. Well, all it took is just to focus more on pure, innocent and real stuff instead of that assandtits vagon.

 

Instagram makes me sad because I only see people’s highlight reels, which makes my life boring in comparison.

I think Porn, Instagram, and Tinder is destroying society too. Tinder encourages hookup culture, Instagram makes people insecure about their life, and Porn makes people insecure about their bodies.

 

I deleted my Instagram when I realise it was wasting my time. I started reading self help books
