Where does it say the average american hits it 3 times a day?

  5. @RiverBlue let's assume your YAHOO! news article is scientifically accurate (which is already a huge stretch). So the average single person masturbates three times a day. What does that have to do with porn addiction? Talk about a leap of faith.

@FellatiousD My comment was facetious. I don't believe the poll or that everyone is an addict now!

My husband was very successful at his job, volunteered at the children’s school and church, worked out daily and had a so so diet. He is very social, lol way more than me. He’s a 40 year addict. Functioning addict. He had pied from the age of 45-50. He had de our entire marriage. He no longer has either now. Last time he had a soft dick was when he relapsed a year ago. He’s been trying to quit our entire marriage.

Even if the article actually supported the 3x number (it doesn’t even come close) and statistics from a single study can be taken as a true indicator (not) and masturbation is an easy subject to survey (give me a break here!) what’s the point? That we’re okay if we jerk off if the whole world is doing it in legendary numbers?

Again, I'm going to reiterate what I said earlier. Just because one person does something x amount of times, given that it isn't something absurd like 10 times a day, doesn't mean they're addicted. Have you taken into account of the person's libido? Have you taken into account that the person may be hypersexual? Branding someone an addict because of how many times they masturbate a day isn't really the proper way to measure "addiction". If you're able to function properly, if it isn't getting in the way of anything in your life then you're not addicted. Addicts don't function properly. They function, but not in the sense that you think they do. Either way later on even if they do have a job, that jobs going to be lost if they don't take the action to address their addiction and what causes them to rely on said "thing" in the first place.

If you're an addict, you can't exercise moderation, when you can't exercise moderation, you can't keep balance.

I'm not saying that every single person that PMO's, drinks alcohol, or takes drugs is an addict. But you do get many addicts who still have a job, social life etc, but they are still an addict.

But it sounds like what you are saying is if someone heavily uses drugs, alcohol, or PMO's but they still have a job and other areas of your life in check that they can't be an addict. I am saying that I think this is incorrect.

What you describe when you speak of an addict is somebody who has basically hit rock bottom through their addiction, they have destroyed most or all other areas of their life. Of course this can happen in addiction. But you are coming across like you think that people must of reached this point before they qualify as an addict. I am saying that I think this is incorrect.
