Hey I know how it can be weird after coming off a period of no porn. One thing that helped me was focus more on the cuddling/kissing/being naked with a person rather than just the sex... for me my body quickly reacted to that.

Thank you guys for your answers, much appreciated! Within the last days I realized that I've been falling back into old Youtube-binging habits and stuff and want to cut that again. It makes me so unfocused and I just get so disconnected with myself by that... I want to install better habits again - singing, playing the guitar, sports, meditation, reading more,... there's so much more that I want to do and still often choose Youtube or Wikipedia cause it's so much more stimulating to the brain. I will work on that, basically have no other choice either way. I've improved organising myself by making To Do lists and "Things to achieve" lists within the last days, that definitely helps. And I formulate my goals in a better way, in the "smart" way. It helps so much...

Will keep you guys updated. 180 days is not far :)

    Stay strong!

Congrats to you for what you've already achieved, and for working on the deeper issues behind your PMO rather than just focusing on # of days and "white-knuckling" behavior. Defeating this disease is not something one can do on their own. One needs to come out of the darkness and isolation and speak with another trusted human being about what's been going on and what is driving the behavior deep down. Counselor and SA groups are excellent options and taking ownership and making use of those resources for me also. And your comment about having sex in the context of a loving relationship is spot on. Otherwise it's just trading PMO for some other unhealthy sexuality, and we all deserve better - healthy sexuality with intimacy and connection. Well done and continued success!

    - Quick update -
I'm still on track and chatted up a few hot girls the last days, yesterday I met one who seems to be quite into me. That made my porn pathways activate today and my brain wanted instant gratification, so it tricked me into looking up photos (legitimate cause they're not a video, that's what the excuse was) of old scenes I liked. After a few minutes I stopped and got more mindful again, and since there was neither M nor O I won't reset my streak.

But it was a great lesson - my ego still wants to take the easy path of instant gratification and not work for it. Not a big surprise, it will most likely stay that way forever and it's just normal. But just from abstaining one won't heal, you need to face your urges and actively withstand them when they come up.

I love honesty in this story, I also dont expect much after 90 days i need atleast a year to start feeling the benifts of nofap.
keep it up brother you are just on the right path, Please be aware that the number of days dont matter, what matters is how much you grew since the last time your relapsed.

I think that body regenerate seed in 90 days, that is a huge step but you'll need to wait for few more months or even years becouse brain rewiring demand longer period of time bro. 90 days is a huge and very important step and it will be better and better for sure.

Wait, what do you mean by this?

  8. That's awesome! Thanks for the inspiration. I've decided that whether or not I get "super powers" I will overcome this monster. Porn has been screwing with my life for 22 years. I just want to conquer it, benifits or not. I'll get myself a trophy or something and call it good!

To fully rewire and reprogram the brain chemistry takes longer time. It is different for everyone actually, but you cannot expect full brain recovery in short period of time especially if you were engaged in fapping for a very long. I used to PMO since I was 13 and I stopped year ago ( when I turned 31). So, as you can imagine, doing something so harmful and overstimulating each and every day damages our brain chemicals production (dopamine and serotonine receptors). Some people say that it takes up to 3 years to achieve full benefits and recovery bro. I don't mind it at all, Nofap is my lifestyle now and every new day is better one, I no longer struggle for anything and I am always full of energy and life. Just keep yourself healthy, live long and prosper bro...

Thank god I found someone who is facing these issues. The extent to which I have damaged my brain, I feel as if I will nto be able to heal in 90-140 days period. I will need longer time, and the pressure of feeling superpowers is tremendous at that stage. I think if there will be other people who face these issues then that will console me. I will also keep going brother. I am right now on Day 19 and feel very good.

I'm only on Day 7 and not expecting superpowers. Not even after 90 days. Not ever. To each their own but to me it's not as much about fixing one thing to get "superpowers" (small or big depending on your level on addiction, for me it was moderate) as fixing your life as a whole by getting rid of your addictions and guilt. Most success stories I've read emphasized NF a lot while it was really only a trigger to fix other stuff. What I mean by that is that those who succeed the most have changed many other things: they work out regularly, eat cleanly, have healthier habits, etc. So we can't really expect to just maintain a streak and reap those benefits. I think NF is good, but it's not a be-all end-all. (Sorry for the poor writing, I'm tired and English is my third language)

Keep going. It doesn't matter where you started, but keep on the right path although it's a difficult one.

  16. Dude, is this somewhat sad phase you're going through can't be the process of discovering your EU?
By the fact you spent some time masking reality with pmo ?

What do you mean with EU? TBH, I feel pretty stuck and didn‘t make any progress or felt anything change within the last 2 - 3 months, this process doesn’t feel very rewarding

Update - had a girl at home yesterday, so no more monk mode, but still no P & M. I wanted to find out how it's going to work and it did fairly well haha. I was still pretty numb on an emotional level, but porn is not an option, no matter what.

Update - relapsed yesterday haha. Counter down from 153 to 0 days…
I‘m not really angry or something like that, it feels like having had sex at the weekend really activated the old pathways. Lesson learned.
And most of all - it didn‘t really feel good and now I feel something like buyer‘s remorse haha. I know this is not the end of the world and relapsing can be helpful as long as one gets his urges back under control.
As I said: Lesson learned, We‘ll see how I‘m going to deal with the urges within the upcoming days.
