Same here. All my friends use it but I keep myself aloof from even its discussions and they think me like some weirdo out there.

 

True man. All these things not only are destroying the society as a whole, they are also damaging us physically, mentally and of course spiritually.

Yes I know YouTube has so much porn. And it also has these waxing videos and medical videos that show all but IMO it’s porn.

Right. assuming human beings can in this day and age, avoid ad aeternum and with 100% certainty that they can live in a bubble free of any sensual or sexual visual stimulii...

But anything can be used to masturbating so whats the line you draw?? if its a hot girl in a bikini or pajamma pants you jerk off. if its an inter racial couple that plays into the IR fantasy so you jerk off. So, where is the line drawn i wonder? breakfast photos? If one uses instagram to chat and meet and seduce people and hopefully have sex or meet a girlfriend, or a friend with benefits, then its inevitable you will see some nudity or sensuality since even if there is no full nudity , seeing bikini and by the pool photos of people , men and women can inspire you to masturbate... obviously , if you find it hot , anything will...

Now if you want 0 of this, by all means delete it all. its just an app after all

Hey man, I used to think like that but for me now it’s dangerous for me to even view this stuff. If I spend time watching these I give myself permission to keep watching and then before I know it I’m giving myself permission to visit my favourite online harems of porn. It happens every time. And because I know this I am now at risk of falling for the porn trap again. Unfortunately, I have put myself in this predicament and must stand my ground and be forever vigilant and protect myself.

Where someone draws the line is up to each individual. I can’t speak for someone that gets aroused seeing an internal couple in public or on TV, because that concept has never once entered my brain. That persons line is much different than mine.

But, the topic of this thread is Instagram. Other hypotheticals are irrelevant. If you’re MO to your search section on Instagram, it’s effecting your goal (if it is your goal) to quit porn.

Likewise, if your using Instagram to find hook ups, and that’s leading you down a path to MO, you have to make the choice on what’s more important.

 

Everyone's threshold is different. For me at least I know that looking at a chick on Instagram gives me the same rush as looking at porn, I guess I'm just extremely sensitive when it comes to attractive women.

 

all social media sites hire "attention engineers" - these people are literally trained and paid to keep their platforms addictive as possible. They take tips from casinos and gambling machines.

How do they make it addictive? When clicks = dopamine. If they could throw chocolate at you through the screen they would. Since they can't, it's tits n models instead.

It feels like p because it's the same exact mechanisms. Infinite scrolling, visual stimuli, clickbait nonstop, photoshoped / airbrushed models, and plastic culture. It's the same crap.

 

And people wonder why I stay away from it by ten feet wide.

 

I think what you’ve mentioned is the key to being free from PMO addiction. Deciding what’s most important and sticking with it is the key.

It's weird to me that people rarely talk about how Instagram became sexual in the
past few years. I also remember it being social media for "photographers" at the
begining. With the OnlyFans disease coming up, Instagram really became softcore
porn site. It's kinda disturbing. Alot of women started labeling themselfs as models,
since then.

I got caught in a scrolling loop constantly, and noticed that explore feed is changing,
also when you save something, explore feed changes. The worst app for quitting porn
if you are not aware. For me it got bad that i started blocking profiles I've been visiting
and using "not interested option" when seeing women on my explore feed. My explore
feed contains only sports, music and art now. It's much better like that.

Damn, you said it! I've really been struggling with Insta recently - I often use it for work purposes to promote myself, but then often slip into looking at erotic content on it!

The things about the algorithm are very interesting. I guess in a 'normal' situation the algorithm suggestions wouldn't be a problem, but for those with a porn addiction it can be pretty damn difficult if the algorithm just regurgitates more and more titilating content for you to look at. I get that, as some people have said, 'just don't look at it in the first place' or whatever, but as we all know, that in't how porn addictions work!

Instagram is the home of the devil. I hate it. I regret using it because no matter what you use Instagram for, whether it's business, school, or just keeping in touch to a friend, you will 100% come across a picture of a beautiful women showing her ass and that makes me relapse all the time. I stay away from Instagram I pretty much quit using instagram it is the new porn actually.

 

Don't even bother browsing ANY social media unless you have a backup plan you can immediately set in action, usually a run, a walk, or a gym workout.
