What a character! And Absolutely! It's not an option! Off the menu! (Period!)

That was the only approach that worked for me with drink/drugs (and now this) especially once I discovered the system described in the link below (and I for one count days for now because it helps to focus and establish the 'maintanence' stage once stopped) and once you stop thats got to be it, NO compromise, no mercy, nothing! Addiction is like having a psychopath living inside you, masquerading as the 'real' you, controlling you at every given opportunity, and it doesnt give a damn about you, your health, your bank balance, your home, your partner, your kids, your parents, your family, nothing! It cares only for its survival and the only thing it lives for is its next fix and your only role/use is to feed it, to be its 'supplier', to sacrafice everything in order to keep it alive (coz after all its your best friend and how could you ever possibly live without it!) but eventually, once the real you sees it for what it is, there really is only ONE option and thats to KILL it! Not wound, or tame, or 'compromise' because then it will lurk in the shadows and pounce when you least expect it, just when you think you've 'won', possibly even by attaching itself to something else and all because you trusted it, because it knew EXACTLY what to tell you in order to stay alive, and your no killer, so you compromised, but its either dead or very much alive and there is NO middle ground with this...none!!! So you got to kill it!! But it will not leave quietly so you'd best be prepared...
