  1. Checking in today.

Making it by God's grace. While I have filtered internet I know that it is a bandaid not a fix. I really need accountability so my mission is to find a person for that. I think this will help not only keep in my mind that someone, Father, is always present and watching but that it will also force me to spend less time on my device because I know any accountability partner I get is going to see I spend a lot of time on my phone.

    This two days is real!
Last night lying in bed with the subtle urge was tough but I eventually fell asleep without giving in. I did have acting out related dreams, which had me on edge a bit when I woke up.
Just got to give these urges, thoughts and feelings the time they need to pass when they come up.

This is great work, it does get dizzy up there but I'm gonna try and climb the ladder too.

    Well done!

  6. In the morning several times a week I read a list of positive affirmations. These are positive statements about myself in areas of life I want to improve in order to cancel out the negative thoughts. These can be very powerful in your life because they affect your subconscious mind. I have found if I start out the morning with positive thoughts, the rest of the day goes a lot better.

Here is an example from YouTube:

LISTEN EVERY DAY! "I AM" affirmations for Success - YouTube

Practicing gratitude is another good way to put yourself in a positive mindset. Thinking of all the things you are grateful for in your life allows you to see that your life is not so bad and helps you to escape the negative thought cycle.

  7. In addition to a positive mindset, I would say having structure in your day is very important. Try to schedule your activities as much as possible to avoid idle time that can lead to P and M. Also, having social engagements (things you have to show up for in person) can add an extra layer of accountability to your life because if you're like me you don't feel like hanging around other people after you've been on a porn binge. My self-confidence always takes a dive after P and M, so knowing I have some kind of social event to commit to like a family get-together or a party or even training a new person at work can keep me from relapsing.

  8. Checking in today.

I'm trying not to focus on days or days to come. For me this is more of a rebirth than a reboot since this process follows what my moral principles should be in accordance with my faith. This is my life so I'm not trying to think about how I'm going to stay away from PMO but rather what I'm going to do with my new found freedom from PMO.

Well that just spiralled out of control.
Today was a relapse and I went back quite hard on my bottom-lines. There was some M but the catfishing and related behaviors just got more and more preoccupied.

The four days I had were solid but the urges were really strong in the brief unstructured moments during those days. All it took today was hanging around on my computer a little longer than I should have, and not stepping way back when the urges kicked in as I would have in the sober days before.

I've deleted all routes to profiles and images I created today, and I need to keep it that way for the rest of the evening.
Tomorrow I can expect a chaser effect from today's acting-out binge. Probably a little stronger than when I came back to nofap last week. So, no computer tomorrow.

  14. I have found the Freedom program/app to be very useful in getting through moments of temptation. It is used by many people as a "productivity" tool to avoid distractions, but you can also use it to block porn. It can block social media sites or all websites, or you can make your own block list. What makes it different from traditional filtering programs is that it blocks in "sessions" instead of permanently. So if you start having tempted thoughts, you can set it to block all websites for the next four hours, for example. Then it allows access again. This way there is no need to find a way around the program, you can just change your settings before your session starts. Anyway, you might want to look into it. No program can cure porn addiction, of course, but this is another good tool for the toolbox.

I just joined this platform. I am 35 yo soon to be 36. Today it is my 4th day without fapping. I need a mentor or guidance to stay away from pornography. I am really serious about no fapping this time after trying couple of times. Can I join your group?

@karshup In terms of mentoring I advise you start by looking up "Universal Man" on Youtube and watch his series on Sexual Self Mastery. This should give you a pretty good starting point.

I used to be addicted to drugs. I could go a while without, but whenever I had a reset and was taking again, I would go in even heavier than last time. This just reminded me of it and shows again how related porn and drug addictions really are.
