Concerning Hypersexuality Problem (M) At Night.

    I've come so far as to control myself whenever I fall into a debauched or otherwise sexual thought process (thanks to the advice and wisdom of my peers here, Nofap has had a seemingly, positively indelible effect on my life, and I will be forever indebted to this cause). This active management has worked for me for quite some time now.

    However, most of my relapses stem from an impetuous habit I have to wake up in the middle of the night and edge/release without much active, conscious thought. This leaves me incredibly peevish since I have to bear the heavy brain fog and indolence the next day, and I wasn't even fully in charge.

    Mind you, this occurs in the middle of the night! I have fleeting time to think rationally about what I am doing and the position I'm in. Unfortunately at that time, the urge is already acting itself out.

    Here's what I've attempted to remind myself of this condition at night:
    • *I've buckled my hands together with tape or a belt as a way to militate the action completely last night this failed, as I had just slid my hands out of the band:mad:
    • *I always wear underwear + shorts for an added layer of reminder/protection
    • *I wear a medal around my neck intended for me to recognize discipline
    • *I hold a symbolic object in my hands for me to recognize my philosophies (i.e., a 'seed' as a notion of the numinous masculine character, in this way sperm - capable of procreation and beauty- behaves such as a "seed" and should therefore be guarded and faithfully venerated)

    I'm trying to think of other 'rites' to practice in order to more effectively remind myself of the shit I work for whenever I wake. I would like to hear some more astute and workable solutions that some of you may be making use of when dealing with a problem such as mine, or general advice. Thanks all.

    I had the same problem in my first streaks. One thing you can try is getting really tired before going to bed. This will give you a better sleep, and you are less likely to wake up in the middle of the night. Do workout for example. Mental activities are also good, solving math problems for example.

    You can avoid your electronic devices one or two hours before going to bed. It has been proven blue light disrrupts our normal cyrcadian cycles, those control our sleep time.
    Recentlly I came across another advice, I never tried but it makes sense: "Changing the place where you sleep". We tend to asociate random unrelated objects with addictive behavior in our brains, the bed for example. That phenomenon is similar to the Pavlov experiment, if you want to know more about it. So you can try to sleep in another place, in another bed, rearrange your bedroom, use another mattress.

    These are interesting, I may try some.
