Why Are You Doing NoFap?

I quit porn about 3 years ago. I've slipped and looked at p-subs a few times though. I'm quitting masturbation for religious reasons.

 

Because I’m done.

I’m done being an addict.
I’m done sneaking about.
I’m done having a brain that is hardwired to a specific pattern.

 

Because fap took everything from me(I was masturbating every day for 15 years).Me before nofap and me after nofap,its like a different person.

 

Because I don't want a thing that drags me down in my life. So it's about fixing my brain. I also want to gain full control over my body and release the full potential of my brain for creative activities and better learning.

 

Can't get more direct than that. I like it...and I agree with it.

 

Realized I was getting bored with the usual stuff, and also even more disinterested in IRL relationships (which tbh had been a problem for awhile anyway). COVID absolutely did not help either. Figured it’s a good time to come out of my shell and see what’s out there for once.

same. it's a hard time having a normal conversation with an attractive girl and not feeling guilty of not being 100% there for her with your thoughts.

 

My regular porn viewing habits has made me bored of the 'vanilla' stuff to explore some fetishes I'm not proud of. The urges too easily overpower me and make me have sexual thoughts way too often. I want control over my sexual desires again, and to not feel like a slave to masturbation

 

Honestly? because it's a total waste of time in my opinion.
And besides that,

whenever I used to masturbate or to watch porn it always made me feel unmotivated to do things, lazy and tired and I hated it.
Sometimes it also led me to depression, anxiety and sadness (literally for no reason) and it killed my confidence around people and especially girls.

I'm on day 31 right now and there's still a long way ahead of me but I think that leaving pmo behind was the best choice I've made so far.

 

I feel stronger and better every new day. I do much more real and good things - for example I am making a new hiking trail going up a mountain next to my property here in the Great North Woods, New Hampshire.

Something interesting happens with women - the longer I NoFap the more often when I cross path with a new woman she looks into my eyes, smiles, tilts her head to one side, and flips her hair. Sometimes she bites her lip as she smiles.

My body seems to be exuding sexuality to her even though I am not trying. She can be married, have a boyfriend - it does not matter. Her signal is she is physically turned on to me without me even trying.

 

Because pmo made me physically, mentally and spiritually weak and weakness is death my friend.

 

I started NoFap because i was very addicted to pmo and masturbation, like having a especific hour just to fap like a pervert and then when i started NoFap i feel so much better and with a lot of energy just for being free of pmo and then
somehow i lost my ''will'' and became lazy with the restrictions, i am trying to return to this determination because i am having frequent relapses and very poor streaks like 1-2 weeks, it has been i hard journey harder than i ever thinked but forging myself is rewarding and that already worth the try

 

Because I think it has a negative impact on my happiness and my ability to connect with other people.

Because I think it's undignified to jerk off to other men having sex with women on a screen.

Because I think it is unethical maintain the porn industry by demanding their services.

 

Because PIED is something I’ve been in denial about for years and it is harming my relationship with my wife and damaged my self esteem.

I'm trying nofap because I want to improve my life, I'm lazy, unmotivated and will do anything that lets me do nothing.

The one thing I have going for me is I would say that I have a better than normal will power when it comes to quitting things, smoking, pot, alcohol and now porn/masturbation.

I'm currently 8 days into nofap, previously I likely masturbated nearly every single day for the previous 25 years, most days multiple times.

I'm hoping that quitting this will give me the energy and motivation to better myself.

I've definitely thought about masturbating again, but it hasn't been too difficult yet, the first 24 hours was the worst so far..

Anywho, hoping this helps me with the rest of my life.

 

I want to start enjoying life again and I want my dick back.

 

I don't want porn to be a god to me. There's much more to life than sex and pornography so I want to enjoy life to the fullest and not just one small part of it

 

Sick and tired of this secret life. I want to re-engage fully with my wife and get my sex life back. I was on a slippery slope of looking at real women as a collection of body parts when out in public and I was normalising my behaviour. I never used to be like this. I want to claim my life back from porn.
