true nofap benefits

    first of all this post isn't meant to discourage you from doing nofap but to give a rational view on it. also albeit this is subjective we're all human and i think this is the objective and universal truth.

    99% of people on this website frequent it because of one thing we all have in common. pmo addiction.

    pmo addiction might just be the easiest most accesible thing you can get addicted to. it also is one of the most self destructive habits.

    abandoning that habbit has numerous benefits and these are:

    - no more continuous deviation of your sexual desires. the more you fap and watch porn the more unrealistic and unnatural your attractions become, thus separating the arousal of your mind from your true innate sexual desires.

    - a bit more energy (constantly renewing semen takes a toll on your body) not a huge one though and that means you aren't gonna be energized like on 3 cans of red bull just because of not fapping.

    -it hardens your mind and makes you more comfortable with discomfort and thus you enter lifes' battles eagerly.

    -saves a lot of time which can then be put to productive use! it gives you more free time which you can wisely choose to spend on productivity!

    -muscle gain might be a placebo i'm still pondering on this one.

    -clears your skin after a while, hormonal disbalances cause a lot of pimples on your face. in my case the first few nofap tries gave me a huge ammount of pimples because my body was used to constantly ejaculating, it took a while for the body to relearn it's normal state.

    be stubborn in your nofap journey, Jesus saved me from this addiction only after much tries and confessions.

    by confession i mean the thing when you go to a priest and confess your sins (in a worldy view it's taking a boulder off your shoulders; in a Christian view the demon that haunted you loses all the work he put into destorying you since after confession and redemption your sins are forgiven).

    maybe writing down examples of the mentioned benefits will be useful:

    -no more continuous sexual deviation:

    you all know the story, started fapping to some vanilla stuff (in my case hot blondes), then after a while you need a bigger hit of dopamine. after that it goes to more precise fetishes untill one day you're stuck to your pc and your dark room fapping to midget femdom cornbread transexual clown porn asking yourself how did I get here and why can't I stop?

    you search reddit and forums and people there tell you to embrace that and that it's just your kink, nothing weird. but in your heart of hearts you know that it's wrong and not something you want for yourself, but if you say that out loud they call you a slut-shamer or something.

    some people might have even saught after their porn induced fetishes in real life. i've read numerous accounts of people persuing their fetishes in real life and guess what? they couldn't even get hard, reallity struck them.. afterwards they had feelings of regret and remorse.

    all those fetishes are just the way you shaped your neural pathways through time and the good news is it's fixable.

    by abstaining from pmo, the neural pathways slowly start to weaken. after a while the kinks you had just stop and you even feel disgoust by looking at them.

    *TRIGGER ALERT* - in my story I went from just vanilla stuff to tporn and to humiliation and to bbw girls. once I went to a prostitute that was bbw I was like wtf? by abstaining as time passed those fetishes don't trigger or interest me. now i'm back to being attracted to beautiful slim blondes.

    -a bit more energy:

    like i've said it's not like you're doing cocaine or something it's not gonna make you 100% more energized. it will give a small boost to your energy but additional life changes can ramp up your energy levels even more.

    for example - cold showers, green tea, coffee, having a very healthy sleep schedual (waking up at 5am and going to sleep at 9-10) etc.

    -it hardens your mind:

    doing nofap brinns a lot of discomfort at first, you're suddenly leaving that easy dopamine fix behind you. but then you're like man if i can not masturbate then why wouldn't I cut on my junk food consumption. then you're seeking new dopamine fixes, for example I once asked a question in a large auditorium and I've gotten a hormone rush from doing that, now I'm in the civil sector and am working towards giving my first speech in front of an audience because i loved the feeling i gave me.

    -saves time

    fapping for 1-2 hours each day ammounts to 30 days of fapping per year... 730 hours of fapping per year... it takes 1000 hours to become good at something.

    instead of fapping I inplemented learning programming for example, it's still on a basic level but slow and steady wins the race.

    instead of fappin I've started journaling my lofe with my left hand, it can be very useful to read your thoughts of a few months ago etc.

    more time for studying.

    more time for hanging out.

    more time for exercising.

    but beware, you gotta watch out to make that time useful instead of just scrolling ig instead of not fapping.

    aom is an awesome website and community, I see you're into it :).

    some major tips are:
    - don't run to pleasuring your stomach. lust follows excessive eating. i'd suggest fasting.

    - if your body is stronger than your spirit this path is damn near impossible.

    - cut your dopamine intake and potential triggers. for the first 60 days I've had to delete instagram because of potential triggers, watch out on youtube. install porn blockers etc. turn off notifications (they bring dopamine - look at pavlovs dog experiment).

    - chaste look on the street. when a really sexy girl walks infront of you or passes you by, don't look at her and don't think about sex. (you controll your mind, it's your tool, just put it to use on something else)

    - go to bed early and rise early. don't lie around in bed as that is a huge trigger.

    - start exercising

    - start journaling so that you can read up on it in times of trouble and not repeat same mistakes.

    - make a weekly to-do list and stick to it. also don't overstretch, be realistic with your to-do list.


    this sums up the 'rational' and worldly advice I have in order for you to beat this evil plague.
    in my case the spiritual aspect was equally if not more important, if you're Christian i'd gladly share that part too.

    This is true, though, I like your success story and the extra detail of acting out on it. It really is just feeling ashamed for acting on your dopamine search. It's a good example for people on here.

    Excellent points. Heartwarming to hear that you too like AoM. Right now I'm starting again after a relapse, and I'm confident this time I can make it out.

    I think you are not a gym freak guy. Otherwise, you would have known how difficult it is to hit the gym 1-2 days after fapping.

    If you are talking about normal works like going to the office and doing work on a computer or especially no physically hard work, then whatever you saying is true. You won't see any significant energy level difference.

    it's normal bro, your body is used to renewing all that testosterone because you constantly jerk it out your pee-hole.

    don't worry, it will stabilize after a month or so and you'll have baby bottom skin :)
