  1. If you are addicted to cigarettes, you can use nicotine gum.

    If you are addicted to caffeine, you can use herbs like Ginkgo and simply try to get a good ol sleep

    Why don't we have our own Stevia? Our own alternative?

    I'm missing that "high" feeling you get during an orgasm, and the excitement beforehand.

    I thought about doing sports to get a runners high, but I don't know

    Our alternative is living a normal, fulfilling life without the restraints of a PMO addiction. People who aren't addicts take this for granted, but it's a lot more meaningful to those who manage to break the chains of addiction.

    It would be great if this thread produces a long list of healthy activities that can give us that same excitement and sense of intense focus that porn does, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but @I Hate PMO there isn't anything. That's why we fell into this hole.

    So instead of looking for that one magic bullet, I need to piece lots of things together:
    • Knowing my own triggers and developing techniques to avoid them,
    • Having tools that I can turn to when the urges start to overwhelm me,
    • Adding lots of mentally and physically healthy things to my life,
    • Celebrate the milestones and the benefits, and
    • Stay vigilant.

  6. Well, this might be controversial, but I think you should always reserve the right to have an emergency wank if you are ever in danger of succumbing to the temptation of porn.

    I am not saying masturbate everyday gratuitously, I am saying practice NoFap pragmatically and strategically.

    Cross fit….. riding horses full gallop on the beach…. Games with family and friends…. Road biking. Singing and dancing with abandon, hot baths with music. These bring me joy, peace, contentment, satisfaction. So many things

  8. Those are good options, don't get me wrong, but I don't think that games with family and friends feel physiologically like an orgasm.

    I am looking for things which physically feel very similar to orgasms

    I don't think there's a one to one replacement, except drugs that would dump as much dopamine into your brain as porn does. Like cocain, heroine, oxy, etc.

    There are other higher dopamine hit activities that are also high risk, drinking alcohol, gambling, dare devil activities like racing, base jumping, etc.

    But if you're just going to live a 'normal' life there's nothing that is going to release the dopamine stores to porn's level. If we're being totally honest even sex with your significant other doesn't hold up to say an hour or two edge session. In terms of pure dopamine. Obviously sex with you SO is way healthier and is fantastic.

    Even video games and TV pale in comparison.

    So that's the deal. We all have this drug dealer in our pocket, bedroom, office, bathroom, wherever you have a screen and an internet connection. And we have to consciously make the decision to say no, each and every day.

    Saying no to porn is a sacrifice in pleasure. Plain and simple. But that sacrifice can lead to a better life. Instead of living in a fantasy land, jerking it to whatever, going deeper down the rabbit hole of smut, wasting time and energy, killing motivation and dulling out your dopamine receptors. You choose to do more healthy and productive activities. Which will slowly and steadily make your life better and more fulfilling in the long term.

    Also to note the better you get at a hobby the more dopamine spike you get. ie hitting a home run vs grounding out. Getting a birdie vs a triple bogie. Skiing as fast as you can down a mountain vs falling ever 2 mins. Jamming out on a guitar vs learning to play, you get the point.

    It sucks getting off porn. It's hard. It takes constant will power. You go through withdrawls and flat lines. And there is nothing that replaces it. But there are activities that can be very rewarding if you're willing to put in the time and effort.

    Be strong brother. You can quit if you really want. Hope this helps.

    Listening, transcribing, playing, composing, all of these things can give me intense satisfaction. [​IMG] It is however not any way like an orgasm. I don't think there is anything like it in this world.

    I think this would be having succes with real girls, or going out to a party with friends. These things make you excited and fulfilled, just like that sexual high you get from porn. But there hard to obtain ofcourse
