Rewiring my brain

Discussion in 'New to NoFap' started by egillila8967, Aug 21, 2015.

  1. Hello all,
I'm here to try something different and see where it takes me. I believe that the habits I formed at a very young age should be broken for a means towards living a more fruitful life. I am 28 yet haven't had a deeply meaningful or long term relationship. I'm starting to wonder whether or not porn has had an effect on this. I don't believe that porn has ever gotten in the way of my personal life, but I dont think it has helped either. Just here for to give/recieve support for overcoming this new era of heightened and artificial stimulus we are experiencing.

Hello egillila8967, and welcome to NoFap. I'm sure many would agree when saying people make the decision to quit P for many different reasons. It may be from P related ED, to even as simply as wanting to see what your life might look like without it EVEN if you're not entirely sure yet if it has had a negative impact on your life. Personally, the self shame and lack of productivity have been major reasons to quit because they both became such dominating beasts for me. As a new member, I think the first thing you might want to do is just spend time going through other members' posts and finding out how other people are finding this journey. Personally, I found many people that related stories that were VERY similar to my own, and it made me realize that I wasn't actually alone in this.

Whatever your reasons are for being here, you're almost guaranteed to find others that are like yourself. All the best!

Hi egillila8967 try to take the nofap challenge @ 90 days. You'll know where you stand. If PMO is not such a big deal and you're not addicted to it, it will be a breeze. A very good way to check yourself where you stand.

  4. Thanks for the message - day four now and it's definitely not a "breeze"
