Grocery Items You're Never Without

    So what's in your kitchen? Here are my go-tos, all organic or locally sourced whenever possible:

    - Eggs
    - Whole Milk
    - Bananas
    - Sprouted Grain Bread
    - Peanut Butter
    - Broccoli
    - Spinach
    - Chicken in some form
    - Tuna
    - Apples
    - Nonfat Greek Yogurt
    - Lowfat cottage cheese
    - Honey
    - Raisins
    - Some kind of fresh sweet fruit (blueberries, strawberries, grapes or cherries)

    Great list, sounds healthy. In addition I always keep in stock:

    • Brown rice
    • Various nuts and seeds
    • Dried lentils/beans/chickpeas - as i have a pressure cooker these mean i can whip up a healthy curry or stew even when i havent managed to go shopping for a while. I always keep my favourite spices and herbs in the cupboard too, essential for when your healthy meal isnt quite as exciting as you hoped.
    • Porridge oats
    • Frozen mixed berries - essential emergency fruit fix if i run out of fresh. Stir into porridge during cooking or use in smoothies.

    • green grapes, bag a grapes goes for about 5 days for me
    • bananas, a lazy breakfast
    • popcorn kernels, to make healthier popcorn

    Jars of cooked chickpeas
    Tins of sardines in olive oil
    Free range chicken eggs.
