No weight loss? Due to masturbation?

Discussion in 'Compulsive Sexual Behavior' started by Deleted Account, Aug 15, 2021.

  1. Hey everyone.

This is actually a kind of continuous problem I have been having with myself.

I've been doing ab workouts, cardio three days a week, "extensive or hit cardio". I have a personal goal to get abs by my birthday which is in two weeks.

Unfortunately I am not seeing any result's in weight loss. I did edge and I relapsed yesterday. I may begin lifting so that the food doesn't go to my stomach hopefully right away. But I'm just wondering if anybody else has been having this problem or is it all just diet?

I'm eating healthy, currently bought smoothies, had a bandanna this morning. I'm not entirely pin pointing it to masturbation, ejaculation. But if there's an expert that can better describe what's going on please teach or enlighten me.

  2. Stats? (Weight? Height?) How much kcal are you eating? Whats your maintainance kcal? Whats your body fat percentage?

Basically eat 500-1000 kcal under maintainance to loose 2 - 4 kg/ month. Excercise 6 times a week to minimize muscle loss and maximize fat loss. Do intermittent fasting. Will take you anywhere from 1 - 6 months depending on your body fat percentage...

I can't see how masturbation and weight loss can be linked.

If you are eating in a caloric deficit and you're not seeing results, then you're either not counting calories correctly or you're not in enough of a deficit. Reduce your calories by an extra 200 and track the progress.

If you are buying smoothies from stores, be aware of the calories as they tend to be filled with sugars.

Cardio and excessive cardio will not really affect any great weight loss. However, it is a good way to keep the heart and lungs strong and healthy, and it helps reduce current glucose levels in the blood and some current calories in your blood, but it's not a realistic door to your fat reserves. Plus, any moderate or excessive carbs and sugars, especially fructose (smoothies, bananas, fruit, and juices - are the absolute worst, really) - these are all sugars that sabotage weight loss, because all these spike insulin.

Weight loss can only be achieved, in reality, by regulating hormones. Insulin is the body hormone that tells the body to put on weight and to stop any possible weight loss. When insulin is spiked in our body (because of carbs, sugar, fructose, etc.), the fat storage in our body is inaccessible, regardless of endless cardio. Contrastingly, when insulin has declined and the hormone Leptin is spiked, that tells the body to burn off fat reserves. It is only then that real weight loss can occur. Hence, if you want to lose weight and keep it off and also maintain a real sustainable diet that can satisfy you as a lifestyle (otherwise all weight gets put back on, with added "punishment" weight on top, eventually), then you need to pursue a ketogenic-type diet that keeps insulin low and allows leptin to do its job. When there's little carbs and sugar to burn off, your body will switch over to burning fat both from any fat intake and any fat reserves. Protein and fat in a diet do not cause one to be fat, sugar and carbs do, because they trigger insulin, whereas protein and fat do not trigger insulin. Also, if a ketogenic diet is combined with intermittent fasting, i.e., when you restrict any eating only to a 8- or 10-hour window, your body will be able to work on burning fat the other 14 to 16 hours a day when insulin is low. The myth that we should eat 6 small meals a day is false. If all we're doing is grazing on food all day, like a cow, we'll always keep insulin spiked - the hormone that tells the body to store weight and prevent weight loss. Dr. Ken Berry on YouTube has some great videos explaining ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting, as does Dr. Jason Fung, who explains the whole physiological process of weight loss and the prevention of many diseases in later life.

    Best wishes!

BTW, I don't see any connection between masturbation and weight gain/loss, other than both perhaps reflect a lazy lifestyle and reckless care of the body - that kind of thing. But one is not the direct cause of the other; they just share other common factors. We can't blame all our problems in life on jerking off, even if that creates new problems as well.

  5. Unless you're masturbating daily or multiple times a day, I don't think it's gonna make much of a difference (I'm positive too much masturbation lowers testosterone from personal experience, I don't care what the studies say). You're gonna have to eat substantially less (and fast) to lose weight and get visible abs in just 2 weeks.

    1. You're not gonna get abs in two weeks. It's just a physical impossibility. Hate to burst your bubble but that's not how bodies work.

    2. Why do you wanna get abs? Seriously I would like to know.

    3. PMO and ejaculation have no direct correlation with weight-loss or fitness levels. None

    4. If you do want to work towards getting abs, I suggest using this plan:

    https://www.military.com/military-fitness/workouts/achieving-washboard-abs

The author, Stew Smith, is one of my favorite fitness authors. He is a former Navy Seal, nationally accredited conditioning specialist and nutritionist, and overall badass. He helps people of all fitness levels meet their objective fitness goals (from people who are injured or who have never physically pushed themselves in their life to the deadliest soldiers on the planet), and also provides assistance in those trying to reach more subjective, look based results (abs, vascularity, maximum muscle size, etc.).

In addition to the running and ab workouts he gives, I suggest adding lower and upper body muscle building exercises as well. Stew's article about abs assumes one already has a high baseline of tactical fitness, which I'm assuming is not the case for you. Only working out your core is not healthy, could lead to injury, and will hinder your progress in the long term. Working out all parts of your body increases your metabolism (allowing you to burn more calories) and prevents you from getting injured.

I suggest in addition to Stew's plan, you check out this NoFap thread for getting started building muscle all around your body:

    https://forum.nofap.com/index.php?t...ow-to-work-out-and-get-jacked-as-hell.265208/

I will be starting this plan in the coming months. The best way to do it is do whatever muscle building exercise sets you have in the morning before eating a full meal, and then doing the running in the afternoon. Doing muscle building exercises in the morning is best because your body will be in ketosis (since you haven't eat in a while), allowing you to burn more fat. You can also spend the day stretching with your daily activities and recovering with food. Running in the afternoon allows you to stretch your muscles which were torn in the morning, and releases endorphins, allowing you to rest and sleep easier. Doing double days will be hard af, but are ideal for you to reach your fitness goals.

Getting abs is hard af. it will not take two weeks, and depending on your body type, genetics, and past athletic history, might be impossible. Consider your mental/physical health, personal goals, and other life circumstances to understand why you want to do this, how to do it safely, and if you can do it at all.
