I'm already at my 2 months of recovery and lately it's been hard for me to deal with the ongoing porn flashbacks that enter my mind so I would like to know some advice and techniques on how to deal with them, they cause me a great deal of anxiety so it's usually pretty tough to shake them off....I would love to hear all suggestions and advice as possible or perhaps some techniques and tricks too

The usual suspects: Exercise, mediation, cold showers, walks outside, hanging out with friends and etc. Really helps me with rebooting overall, and it will probably help you too.

Other than that, I sometimes put a rubber band on my arm. Every time I have an intrusive thought, I stretch the rubber band to hit my arm, and I feel immediate pain. my brain links the feeling of pain to thought I just had, So it will try to avoid thinking such things. You should repeat this until you feel improvement.

Let me know if anything works for you. Good luck!

And what should I do when the flashbacks show up in my mind? Should I just ignore them or do something specific to get my mind off of it as soon as possible? I'm very open to more suggestions....and thank you in advance

Best thing I can say my brother is embrace it. Be happy that you watched it, for it has allowed you to embark on this incredible journey that is going to change your life for the better. You will become a better version of yourself. Just change the way you look at it. Instead of trying to fight the thought off, embrace it. Eventually those thoughts will fade

So what you're saying is to let them pass and go away on their own?

As difficult as it may sound, I think so yes. Trying to fight it off is going to cause you more stress and anxiety. Just never go back to watching it. Remember, your brain will rewire and those flashbacks will fade away over time. As I said, just try and change the perspective. Those porn videos have actually helped you make big changes in your life that will only help make your life better

Either works. The more you stress about them the worse they get. They weaken over time

Well alright then....I'll try my best to ignore them and let them pass....it's just that I get lots of anxiety when they show up and that's the reason why it's so hard for me to shake them off my mind

I understand that this may be a really difficult thing to do, but I think it would be better you did this than stress over it. Take a deep breath, embrace it and learn to have control over your thoughts. Before long you will master it. And the longer you go without watching porn, those images in your kind will get weaker and weaker. But give it time

Yes I will practice it over and over until I can perfect it, thank you very much for taking your time to answer my question and doubts

  15. Don't fight them, just let them pass, and turn your mind to something nicer.
