You've actually just gotten to the crux of the issue where semen retention hardcores and basic nofappers disagree. It comes down to the physical and mental effects that orgasm has on you. The orgasm is a physical sacrifice that requires you to temporarily sacrifice your own higher mental faculties for the creation of another life. Mother nature never intended for it to be anything other than a tool for creating new life. It's a massive nervous shock to your system and should not be looked at as a fun-button. We are now well aware of how the average person will mentally and spiritually progress as they go certain periods of time with orgasming. 30, 60, 90 days..etc. The body reabsorbs those fluids and puts them to use improving and evolving you as a human.

Personally I think the ideal life would be one where you never masturbate ever, but occasionally have sex with partners of your choosing. There's something to be said for the connection and intimacy of sex with other people, but there's absolutely nothing to be gained from masturbating. It's like watering your driveway instead of your garden.

Orgasm and the sexual thoughts that lead to it are humanity's most powerful addiction because they're explicitly tied to our animal instinct to survive and reproduce. But, we're at the point in our evolution now where we don't need to focus on reproducing as furiously as possible because we might get eaten by tigers or something. We're the apex predators now, we've conquered our environment. So now, every orgasm that doesn't result in the creation of a life is theoretically nothing more than a waste of vital fluids that could have gone to better use and a waste of human potential as a result.

I wouldn't be on here saying this, though, if humanity were thriving. But, we're not. Despite being the most technologically advanced society that we know of, there are 130 suicides everyday. Various other illnesses and negative events in the world can also be traced back to people who have chosen to waste their vital fluid as often as they've felt like it. I'm not saying every single negative event is a result of this, but when you look at the benefits of sexual abstinence, it only makes sense that wasting your vital fluid would have the opposite effect on people, and it does. It makes us less than we can be. In both major, and tiny little ways that add up throughout the generations. However, if you think this is as good as our society can get, then this is where we plant our flags and agree to disagree. I have a hunch we could be so much more, though.

Even many people who you would deem "successful" could either be more than they already are, or are suffering in silence. Celebrity suicides, anybody? Mo money mo problems, ever heard of that? True success in life is not defined by how many arbitrary accomplishments you can stack up or how much money you make, it's defined by how well you can optimize your own health and happiness, as well as the health and happiness of those around you. Orgasm is the polar opposite of human optimization. It's giving away your vital resources to create another life.

I would never encourage the banning of porn or that people punish their kids for masturbating, but the very least we owe our children is the opportunity to know what's likely to happen to them if they practice sexual abstinence, and what's likely to happen to them if they don't. They need to know the truth about what an orgasm really is, and what you sacrifice when you have one.

I realize this thread is inactive now but DAMN had to come be the third person here to say extremely well put. You've put into words what is very hard for me to put into words. Stuff I know at my core. So, thank you, well said. I actually saved your reply in a word document so I could go back over it when I need to realign my mind to the nofap mindset.
