Do you think small goals will conduct to make it easier?

    So as you can see I been in NoFap for a few years now.

    I mean, I become concious of how much damage masturbation has done to me, I dont need to watch porn for masturbate, Ill do it also with dirty talk in tinder/whatsapp/instagram exchanging photos or just by get morning wood and some imagination.

    Everything in the virtual world is just charged with hot woman, you go instagram and you will see hot woman everywhere, so is not just the porn for me.

    After low sucess in NoFap through the years, I decided to ask help here.

    I can do only small steaks, my max was 13 days

    I dont care about the benefits, I just want to erradicate all my vices, like cigarrete and pot, sleeping in the wrong schedule, eat shit food, etc.

    So, Im not sure how approach the masturbation thing, last 2 weeks I been on fire and masturbating about 2/3 times per day, im 32 y/o

    So, I give up on weekly challenges and decided to take the 3 days challenge to have a point of start.

    The question is, do you think that, If I manage to do small challenges, like 3 days or 7 days challenges, It will become easier to do higher streaks later on?

    Honestly Im a heavy user since young age and I dont find any technique or mindset to archieve at least a good amount of time.

  2. Yes. Whether you have a small or a large goal, the number of days you go without PMO is the same. However, with short term goals you feel you are actually achieving something. That's the benefit, the accomplishment feeling.

    If the first goal you mark yourself is, for example, 1 year, it is very likely that you will fail. It would be like setting a mark as high as a marathon, without having accomplished not even a 1 km run. Is it possible? Yes. Likely? No.

    Set short, mid and long term goals.
    My long term goal is not consuming PM not ever again. But that's unbearable. There are still 60 long years ahead. And the days won't go faster. It's overwhelming.
    That's why i set short and mid goals.
    When i started, my mid term goal was the famous 90 days, and the short term goal was 1 month (whichever time you feel according to your situation).
    You can change them if you think they are too optimistic, and of course, you actualize them once you complete them.
    Now, my mid term goal is 1 year, and the short term goals were 2-3 months.
     
  3. Just start out taking it day by day. I agree with the previous post, you need long term goals, but don't think about them too often. Have short term goals which support the long term goals. For example if you want to rid your life of PMO that's the long term goal. But start out by saying "I'm going to go this weekend without PMO." 2 days sure seems a lot easier then saying a lifetime. Then on Monday set a goal for 3 days. If you accomplish that you're 5 days free of PMO. And just keep building little streaks like that and it will add up.

    As long as your streaks and recovery are always improving you're on the right path. A 3 day reboot is fine if your last one was 2 days. You should really try to have an endgame though. Why do you want to stop watching porn? What is it doing to your life?
