Hey guys how's it's going I kinda abandoned this account I haven't opened nofap in past 3 months and I'm on the verge of giving up. I don't know what to do and how to get rid of this curse? I've been struggling, feels like I'm losing....i feel like I have to surrender to porn..... but there's a part of me not wanting to give up, a part of me that wants to continue my streak and get rid of this addiction. I'm losing my mind and I don't know what to do.

    Anyway I have several questions:
I'm 14 and I feel scared to do nofap because some people said that doing nofap (for teens 13,14.....18) may cause prostate related problems (prostate cancer, prostatis) since I'm an addict will doing nofap affect my prostate? Thanks :)

Oh I also saw a meme about nofap that says "when you complete 30 days of nofap but you get prostate cancer" really? Is that true?

  3. Hello @darksoul57681. Welcome back to NoFap! I'm not a doctor or even part of the medical field so I don't know the exact answer. From what I've learned, though, doing NoFap (in the right way) is the best way to regain sexual control and a healthier lifestyle. Porn and MO effect our brain, the control center of our entire body. As long as we're giving into our addiction we're keeping our brain from fully functioning which does indeed effect the rest of our body. Those with prostate cancer could have built up the cancer because of constant masturbation. Prostate cancer is the swelling up of the prostate gland. Then when they chose to stop MO'ing and the brain was no longer getting its "high" their brain began to function normally and realized there was something wrong down there. It's good that the brain finally realizes the problem so the person can get it fixed (ex. that way they can go to the doctor about it).

I do know one thing for sure, though. The longer a person is hooked to PMO, the more sexual and physical problems he will have. I've been addicted for about 14 years (started out as just MO'ing) and I believe that I've actually curved my spine because of how my addiction has effected the way I sit and stand.
    Hope this helps.

Hi @darksoul57681! Welcome back to the forums :) I agree with @Eagel344 on all of the medical problems that you heard/read rumors about. Being addicted to PMO causes many problems, and the many success stories posted on here are positive that rebooting brings many benefits.

Good for you for being aware of all of this at 14. A lot of teens know they shouldn't be doing it but they don't know that it causes assorted problems later on if continued for a while.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain from starting NoFap now. I was looking back at your account, and I couldn't find if you had ever had a consistent journal. If not, consider making one, or making a new one, in the journal section of the forums/website. A lot of people find them beneficial to discovering patterns in themselves and combating the addiction.

Do what is best for you :) if you need any advice, the community is always here to provide information. Best of luck!

  5. Man, I really hope you are able to beat this soon, for your sake. If you can overcome this issue at the age of 14, it will be the best thing you ever do for yourself.

    Hang in there, @ darksoul57681.

It amazes me that at your age you recognized that this is a problem for you. I wish I'd had that kind of wisdom when I was your age.

You may want to look up The SPAM REMOVED (spam code #001) - REPORT TO MODERATION Method. It helped me understand my addiction and how to overcome it.

Also starting a journal may help you process what you're going through.

But most important, keep coming back here. We're all here for the same reason, and we can lean on each other to conquer our addiction.
