Wise statement man! However, isnt it convenient to replace at least in the beginning one worse habit with a 'safer' one? I agree with you though about the dopamin hit. I believe the big secret is healthier closer relationships with others where you have more meaningful connections and no need to develop other addictions.

    Day 87 27 days without a drink
I'm really beginning to wonder if there must be an optimum level of sex or even fapping. I don't know what is worse being a walking erection who needs to shoot his load 3 to 5 times a day, or having next to no sexual appetite at all. I have been at both extremes. I suppose there must be a happy medium but unfortunately people like me tend to be all or nothing. Maybe some people such as my self are just not wired to be normal which is fine as long as we are functional but unfortunately porn addiction makes that very unlikely.

Maybe I have come to realise there is more to life than sex. Having a great work life, social life and love life I imagine would be better than having a porn Star's sex life, which is something I have pretty much wasted decades of my life fantasizing over. I suppose learning from one's mistakes is the only way to develop and grow.

Thank you for your advice :)
I agree with the statements you said about addiction, like wanting more...and how bad it is. But there no addiction to dopamine, dopamine is a neurochemical that is produced by our brain to seek pleasurable experiences and repeat, i like imagine it like the source of motivation. There is nothing wrong about having a dopamine hit, it is healthy. The problem with porn is that it is a super stimulus, it gives our brain more pleasure than it exist in real world.
Urges are signs that your brain needs some dopamine, off course here you have the choice either watch porn and get sick or look for healthier ways to satisfy your needs, like talking to a friend or getting out... It requires brain control to choose less dopamine activities...This ia why it is difficult to rewire our brain to old paths after getting exposed to higher source of dopamine...
Anyway, i'm trying to find a healthy soothing.
As you said i have to be careful not to get addicted to something else instead.

Moments of dopt are useful to reflect on once life and think deeply about his decisions, in the same time they are traps. Life is way better without porn, it is just we can't see that till we abstain from it for a long time. Stay always positive my friend, there is always hope.

    Totally true.

I don't know for sure if you can call it addiction to dopamine (and I don't think it matters) but I know for personal experience that hits of dopamine from videogames, watching anime or series, PMO, wasting time watching Facebook, instagram or YouTube, etc, makes you want more hits like that or bigger, and at the same time makes you feel like real life is less attractive, or even boring, because your brain already have a better, faster and a lot easier to get dopamine source.. basically, making you half zombie lol.

Again personal experience, since the day I quit Facebook, Netflix and videogames not only I was able to control myself to not PMO, but also replaced that sources of dopamine that kill your brain cells with sources of dopamine that makes you grow. Making exercise, talking with friends and family, studying, meditating, etc. Like you said, dopamine it's supposed to be motivation ¿for what? For doing stuff that's actually good for you, that's when dopamine is healthy. If your dopamine source is videogames or anime, don't lie to yourself, it is not healthy at all.

Today i felt sad, particularly invaluable because i proposed a friend to meet and he implicitly refused. That feeling of hopeless, and that nothing will change is an illusion. These feelings plus stress are my main reasons for PMOing, i use it to escape discomfort.
What you said about social media and anime and videgames is true. Too much use of these things makes me feel tired and bored.
I rarely use facebook, and i don't play too much games, but i watch a lot of anime. Let's take anime for example, too much anime is bad no dopt, but a little bit of it doesn't hurt, especially if it helps forgetting about an urge.
I agree, too much internet consumption is bad and exhausted. Unfortunately i can't quit internet, because it is simply my work.
I'll start doing one day internet detox. This is a good idea :)
By the way i surpassed today's urge because of a beautiful song.

There it is!! Double digit!! 10 days free of PMO!
I think I might have only gotten a 10 days streak only once or twice since I started NoFap in March.
Can you imagine how many times I have relapsed...? But that is all in the past and I don't care about the past!
Even though it is not much, I am still proud of the two digits!
Next milestone: 2 weeks! Lets gooo! :)
