Well most of things he says is true but im not willing to accept any religious teaching because of nofap. Lets face it, most of Muslim world oppress women even he claims its not like that.

  4. What's more, we should leave out religion from nofap completely. There are enough reasons to quit PMO without any kind of religion. If it helps you -as it helped me- then by all means, but it's not necessary.
Hey Angriff, you're doing great, 81 days, awesome!

  5. WOW! This is a powerful and passionate endorsement of the principles and facts upon which this site was founded. I have difficulties sustaining concentration so I have only watched the first quarter of an hour, but it is an excellent and honest exposé of the insidious, infectious and salacious porn industry. The first minute is spoken in Arabic, but the remainder in in English - don't panic English speakers, lol.

  6. I disagree. Censorship of religion on this site is not an option. After all, not everybody is motivated by the same things. Some people on this site might be here specifically because of religious reasons. Others may look at this and incorporate a spiritual dimension into their reasoning. I have read a lot of nonsense on this site, but I would defend people's right to talk about it.

I would agree that censorship is not an option and I too have read many things I wouldnt agree with on this site (such is the nature of these things) although I have seen many perfectly valid points dismissed as nonsense simply because somebody wasnt willing to understand somebody elses perspective etc (and i have probably been guilty of that myself, at least in my mind, on occasions which i guess is natural?) But I totally agree that people have the right to mention what makes perfect 'sense' to them and I hope that one of the many things ive learned here is to be more open and tolerant/respectful of the views of others whilst being less 'guarded' and flexible with some of my own whilst (paradoxically?) strengthening and re-affirming others.

I agree with the principles in the video, but only because it reflects a wider, mainstream attitude.

However, it's somewhat hypocritical coming from a religion frequently criticised for its subjugation of women.

I just wanted to say that I'm a Muslim woman and live in America. It is true that some men in our religion do subjugate women, but that can be said of any man in any religion/non religion.

I don't think you should distort what you have heard about Islam and purport that every man/woman is like that. Sorry if this came off as catty. I just wanted to say we're not all submissive men with abusive husbands.

This may very well be true in western countries because there are modern laws to protect the rights of female citizens, but the religious law in many middle eastern countries is positively medieval.

Yes, people can behave appallingly to each other regardless of religious background, but look what happens when the law is based on religious code. For instance, try driving a car in Saudi Arabia and see what happens.

I don't think any non-muslim country will stop a woman from travelling alone or demand she's punished for being a rape victim.

Oh, and my gripe isn't just against Islam - religion is used to disempower women throughout the world and I would have said the same if it were a Christian preacher in the video.

Regardless of that, you're entitled to your faith and I have no intention or desire to disempower you because of that, I therefore wish you well.

  11. If you followed most Abrahamic commandments to the letter it would be medieval. Religion is perfectly fine where it is, and shouldn't be thrust upon us like the ubiquitous sex advertising of media today.

Nofap started as an atheist movement, so it's amazing to see that moral standards have been discovered aside from the commandments of scripture. I believe this forum has rules against imposing religious beliefs, and perhaps this OP might be crossing the line, but if they want to talk about how religion helps in their own journals then more power to them.

There probably were anti-porn religious sites long before nofap anyway, but I think this breakdown is important:

When you view pornography you are sinning and going against the Law of God

    And

Viewing pornography causes your brain to re-adjust it's sexual reward circuit to favor artificial stimulation over human contact. This can lead to erectile dysfunction, arousal addiction (mimics ADHD), depression, social anxiety and a host of other things. Disengaging from porn use will alleviate these symptoms.

I'm using the distinction to show that the former creates a barrier from understanding the underlying problem. It shows the problem as simply misalignment from God's Path, and the solution comes from Re-Aligning to God's Path or face Damnation.

The latter allows for an objective view of the situation and can help to lead to an understanding of the underlying causes of addiction. People don't just become PMO addicts because they're bored. Emotional traumas, problems in childhood, etc etc, all of these things can contribute to the shaping of an addict, and if those things are not addressed, then relapse is more likely.

I still see porn as a side-effect of people accepting masturbation as an easy outlet for sexual frustration. My own experience is if you cut the masturbation out, you know what you have to do: what's only natural, find a mate, love and respect her and expect the same back :)

    Stay spartan.

Just a heads up to say that Saudi is 1 of 49 Muslim-majority countries in the world and is the only one where women are not allowed to drive. Try to stay clear of what you hear about Muslims on Western media, it can make one sound just as bigoted as the preachers in Saudi who demonise all Western women as whores who sleep with a different man every night of the week.

Actually the women in saudi arabia don't drive because of the communitiy not accepting that , the islam isn't related to that

Hey guys, I am a Muslim and I wanna share my point of view with you.
My reasons for quitting PMO are not 100% religion, I can say 30% religion and 70% is to have a great life that I want to live, to have more energy, to concentrate the effort for my carrier, to mix sex with love ( have sex only with the girl i love) and not siting in front of computer and masturbate.

Also I wanna say I read the Quran, and in lot of verses say: if you do something good you do it for yourself and if you do something bad its on you:
Lot off people think if you quitting PMO for religion reason that means you do it for god, that's not right. Because you just hurt yourself by PMO, You're not hurting GOD.

And also I wanna say the Arabic country are so far from Islam. And I think the Europeans country and close to Islam than the Arabic country, (I was in french and Germany ).

I am not writing here for the sack of defending Islam. there are other places to do this other than here. We are all here to fight one common thing " the weakness of PORN" with all its side effects starting from the Masterbate all the way to whipping your self with the guilt of doing it..

I will write more about this

Guys you missed the point of the site. The site is not about religions comparisons. I found the video useful really despite Islamic title of the post, but it's really useful. I don't see any Islamic point of view in the video, it's just scientific and statistical view.

    I recommend all watch this
