its basically a waste of time, time, that you could otherwise use for your benefits, such as educating yourself, praying, reading, helping others, working (on your own projects), etc.

  4. Honestly I'd say that my time spent watching YouTube videos is more problematic than my time spent playing video games. There is truth to what you are saying though I'd take some breaks from gaming to help me become more mindful but watching hours of YouTube is making me feel tired less motivated and the algorithm is making me feel bitter. In short I feel that it is for the best if I Stopped watching YouTube. There's still some good content on there if you look hard enough, but ultimately I'd say that I'm more concerned about my time spent on YouTube than time spent on Video Games.

I can't say it's a complete waste of time or a bad thing. But sometimes, well, most times, it's really bad. Like I was playing CIV V for a few days recently and I think it had a part in my reset. I set the difficulty on the max and it made me frustrated. :D It was a time sink too. I actually uninstalled it and it really helped.

For me, I imagine I'd love to code for games more than playing them. But when I play them I also enjoy thinking about the wonderful mechanism and the codes that have made the game working. (Also, think about this: maybe you can make your interest in games flow where is more beneficial. Like being a game programmer. Even if you do it as a hobby, it can be much better than just playing them only.)
So, for me, it's not as good as reading a book, going out, etc. But it's not like p&m or mindlessly watch political stuff either. Much less harm in gaming.

It's ok to play sometimes, but not any game. I'd stay away from addictive games (like those unending online games) and those games that make me feel bad. If anything remains, you should be ok with them.
This is mostly a personal experience. Up to you to decide for yourself.

  6. It’s cause you don’t have goals and purpose IRL. The more your change that the less you’ll need the games.

Yeah I also waste many hours gaming. Also I've noticed that a bunch of relapses have happened after a gaming session. Still I haven't done anything about this addiction. I guess NoFap and gaming don't go together but I've been playing for such a long time I don't see myself quitting... If there is anyone who has some tricks to reduce game time I would be thankful cuz god this takes so much time, energy and pleassure off of our lifes
