    First off, the fact that you've has such a long streak shows you can do this. So congrats on that!

    But....as addicts, we can't give in to the urge to watch porn even just for one second. Find something to do right away, get away from those thoughts as fast as you can. The thing about using PMO to deal with stress is that it doesn't work. When you're done, you feel even more stressed and beaten down. Don't give in, stay strong.

    i thought that the problem was masturbation. Would you please remind me what's wrong with porn if i do not masturbate, on a physiological level?

    I'm not sure I understand this question.
    Porn is addictive. That's why we can't seem to break the vicious circle of PMO. If you keep watching porn, you will keep masturbating.

    The viewing of porn is known to create significant changes in the brain. The viewing of porn creates an abnormal spike of dopamine in the brain that after a long period of time depletes the neruochemicals within the brains central nervous system, unbalances the hormones in your body, and in short causes an array of other physical and mental symptoms.

    Imagine being able to pick and choose the female (or male) you wish to masturbate to, being able to stop and change the chosen sex scene and repeat the scene as many times as you want, each day. No wonder the penis stops getting erect to real women. You have basically trained your brain only to react to artificial women. So when you ‘peek’ during your recovery, you are simply reinforcing the very same habit you are trying to rid yourself of. You are literally taking 5 steps forward and two back. @d’averagejoe was spot on when he said you cannot give in to watching porn for one second. Every moment you spend watching porn you are basically undoing any work you have put into your recovery.

    by the way, can u all recommend me an app that will help me ? I have porn addiction calander but its not enough

  6. Please believe me Testify there can be no masturbation without pornography. Even if you are not viewing pornography while fapping! Somewhere in your mind's eye you are being motivated by lustful thoughts.
    This is my considered opinion at any rate. PMO is a lonely self and soul destroying act. Total abstinence is the only approach to be taken. Masturbation, even without porn, which I don't believe in, is an appalling misuse of your sexual organs.
    Take care comrade!

    Ok guys, thank you, i managed not to watch porn and i did not masturbate. these crisis happen maybe once every month or every two months and go on to the point i have a wet dream, as tonight...
    I wish i could have sex with someone but:
    1. i don't like dating apps and meeting perfect strangers just to put my penis into their body;
    2. i don't want to find a partner (a lover) only for the purpose of sex;
    3. maybe because of my health issues that i don't want to discuss here, i have a severe premature ejaculation...

    Anyway, what if a sexual partner, in real world, masturbates you? is it "safe"?

  9. Hi Mentrorr,
    I relapsed, yet again today. I have gone on, without PMO, streaks lasting eighteen months in the past. Only to be undone by taking a 'peek.' Which of course undoes all my previous attempts at abstinence. Just as you have succinctly pointed out in your post above. Today I am depressed and am quite ill physically and mentally. Your point about training our brains only to respond to artificial women is 100% correct! In fact, I don't believe I could manage an erection were I faced with a real life sexual partner. What a horrible state of affairs!

    Good luck everyone

    Hey @Dexter Moran,

    Don’t be too hard on yourself, ridding ourselves of this addiction is no easy feat and is part of the reason we are here.

    A question from me; do you know what it is that is causing you to keep relapsing? When you relapse is it because you’re bored? Stressed?

    I think it might help to understand how you feel when you go to relapse.

    Also, while peeking is bad and doesn’t help your progress, it isn’t quite the end of the world if you look. It is however a clear indicator that you still have an addiction.
