Social media a door to porn addiction

Good idea to remove yourself from potentially triggering situations. How about ad-block plus if you find yourself triggering to online ads though? Afterall, they could come up on any site when you least suspect them.

 

I agree. You should not waist time on binge youtube watching or scrolling fb without any goal. And yes we dont need expose self on such triggers conciously . But tactics on unexpected triggers is necessary too. For example when you see sexy women picture, you can get your eyes as close to monitor as possible, and think about it "it's only pixels, there is no woman there" and that is ultimate truth, pixels are not exciting, only our minds can perceive it as woman and create scenes in our mind. So if you continue then you should be honest and tell yourself - Now I'm living in fantasy.

 

All forms of social media have the potential for you to relapse to porn if your not careful.

Only use social media if it’s having a positive impact on your life. If social media isn’t having a positive impact on your life and your just using social media for sake of a dopamine high. You should quit to save your time and health.

 

One of the best ways to get away from the addiction is to quit social media complet. I left social media behind since 2019. My life at this point turned into something brighter and the many trigger points with women in underwear and all the sexuell pictuers and ads are left now in the past.... the old me.
