A doctor once said the number of years you were addicted = the number of months you need to heal

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Spartan1998, Oct 23, 2021.

How many months you need to heal? (According to this calculation)

  1. 1-3 months

  2. 4-6 months

  3. 7-9 months

  4. 10-12 months

  5. 13-15 months

  6. >15 months

I was at least 5 years addicted so I have to expect approximately 5 months to recover… I think we should take these times as the minimum for our reboot/healing.

I have also heard this analogy when I first began rebooting. At the time I thought it was ludicrous and made no sense, but after testing this framework alongside other recovery stories, I think it is a good way to get an idea of the minimum amount of time you will need to recover.

I already forgot when this addiction started... either I am 10-12 or 13-15. Either way it doesn't matter as if I manage to reach even one of those would be a huge achievement.

It gets easier, I promise. It can't last forever.

I don't think this is necessarily true. And if so, it can be sped up a whole lot by cultivating real relationships with women to grow that pathway in the brain while pruning the porn pathway at the same time.

6 months and a bit to go I guess

  12. I've read somewhere else it's 2 months for every year you've been addicted. However, I was an heavy addict for 4 years and completed 16mo hardmode without counting on and off nofap with bunch of 60-30 days streaks over the course of 7 years. But I'm still not cured totally.

Brief, I don't think this statement holds.

  15. That’s probably about right as much as I do not want to admit it. I Definitely think life style choices can speed up that process but yeah looks like that’s right. So I’ll be 13-15 months before I’m fully healed.
I can confirm I went 150 days one time and relapsed hard I wasn’t even close to being fully healed.

It’s weird because once the physical urges go away and those neural pathways start decaying it’s almost as if after that the mind needs to purge the memories and some sort of astral attachments to your etheric body. And that is what takes a long time. (Just my opinion and views)

I've heard someone else stating that trying to take away the physical component of Fapping and trying to make the orgasms mental, can help.

Interesting point. I think PMO actually creates a blockage in the etheric body and it is the etheric blockage that gives birth to the symptoms that we experience.

Essentially a lack of healthy expression of our emotions and desires [astral body] leads to the blockage of our energy and feelings [etheric body].

    Again, really interesting point.

  19. Well said. I’ve had many different experiences that leads me to intuitively know this is the truth of the matter beyond the physical recovery process. There is no doubt in my mind. This is why, in my opinion, the process is so prolonged and difficult.

Sadly I started this addiction when I was around 12 and that makes this a problem for me the last 15 years.
I'm prepared that this journey will take 1-3 years for full healing.
I have read that healing from most sexual addiction takes 1-3 years in full reboot
