How bad are withdrawal symptoms?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by AidenbliZZ1412, Oct 15, 2021.

  1. In no particular linear order or importance

Nausea: this has only happened twice and it doesn't seem to last more than a couple of hours but it gets very intense.

Anxiety: While generalized anxiety is down (less ruminations, etc) I find myself rehashing very old feelings of anxiety, perhaps unresolved issues from the past. Long forgotten things. I also find myself regretting many things, which I understand is common amongst long term addicts coming clean.

Depression & Anhedonia: This is maybe the worst of it. I think my dopamine system is so out of whack.

Insomnia: Sleep has been a mixed bag. I wake up in the middle of the night for longer periods of time but I seem able to sleep longer into the morning and deeper as well. In fact I've been dreaming almost every night. I thought my dreaming days were over but now they are very vivid. So cool.

One thing I haven't suffered from is brain fog. If anything that has improved since I quit PMO. I used to suffer that one big time and I'm grateful that hasn't been part of the process.

  2. Everyone is different, i had Tachycardia, anxiety, low energy and slow thinking.
But without all this pain we will never understand how worse is our situation. So i supose these withdrawals are welcome, it mean your body is starting to heal.
