Over 4yrs without porn

    I am very happy that I have been porn free for over 4yrs. I am a 55yr old straight man. I lost my marriage because of porn. All my relationships with women were shallow and empty. We all deserve to have healthy intimacy in our lives but I don't believe it can happen if you masturbate to porn. The objectification and fantasizing took a long time to stop but having porn images in your head is the fuel and stopping porn was the only way. I can watch movies or shows with sex scenes and not get turned on and fantasize. I have found healthy intimacy in a 4yr relationship but with her past experience with porn addicts she is very fearful that I am still struggling with my addiction and will relapse. I am trying to find men who are also years into successful porn addiction recovery and may be navigating (or have overcome) similar relationship challenges.

    Congrats on 4 years my friend. That is amazing! Thanks for the inspiration.

    I can't offer you much advise since I'm still a novice by comparison, but I think women have a way of knowing if you are being truthful or not. Hopefully, she will trust her intuition on this or at least give you the benefit of the doubt after 4 years. Good luck!

    Be bold in your relationship to her. You've been free for four years!
    That's a huge trust signal and flag right there!

    Its understandable that she comes back and nags you about, but there should be a strong trust with you and her aligned.

    I can only dream of reaching 4 years without PMO but I know its not impossible. Would you consider yourself cured?

    nice im almost at 3 years, nofap changed my life it also makes you more in the moment

    well I am going to reach 3 years on 10th of november , but I am turning 24 this december and I am a virgin . But my family is is going to arrange a bride for me . These days they are on a hunt for a pretty girl. lol

    I don't know about cured but I can tell you that I have no desire to look at porn. I still will notice attractive women but I don't stare , objectify, or fantasize. It takes time for those to go away but I found it impossible to stop that until I stopped looking at porn.

    Congratulations! I like to hear about others with extended "sobriety". Have you found yourself able to be in a healthy intimate relationship? Have there been challenges with your partner's fear in you relapsing?

    only told one girl about my journey while at drinks before going back to the hotel all she said was "are you backed up right now" i dont know if that was a genuine question or her shaming me. Honestly i have issues maintaining a relationship its easy for me to get them in intimate situations but i always lose interest after getiing what i want and im working on that.
