My urges to PMO are always worst after a workout.
I go to the gym quite a lot, every day, sometimes twice a day, and I always come home feeling super horny. I’ve no idea why, I’ve always been like this after a workout.
I thought that maybe pushing myself harder at the gym would tire me out, so I’d come home exhausted with no interest in PMO, but actually found the urges are even worse.
I love doing exercise, it’s my release from the pressures of work, it relaxes me, de-stresses me, I like the mental focus of training for something like a marathon or triathlon, so I absolutely do not want to give it up. But I’m on day 21 of a reboot and I’m finding it really difficult to resist PMO’ing these past few days. I’m just back from the gym and had to sit in the garden working on my laptop just to stop me from touching myself. On Saturday I did a 20km run with a friend and when we got back to his house I found myself sneaking off to the bathroom to PMO, and only stopped myself when he shouted up to ask if I wanted any lunch.

I need to figure out what’s going on so I can find a better strategy to deal with it.
Does anybody else find they’re like this after a workout? Any ideas on how I can deal with it?

  2. Yes it`s normal, I think most of the guys experience this, because after a workout, especially if you lift and do squats/deadlifts/benchpress your testosterone level rises, the harder you workout the hornier you get. I advise you to take a cold shower after a workout and to meditate little, if not then simply calm yourself, chill for about 10-15 minutes, think about other stuff and do some activity that will leave your mind away from urges. If you can not control your urges, getting a girlfriend might be a good option, because we are all different - some can go on a long streaks and control their energy, while others need to blow out that energy elsewhere.

    Thanks buddy.
The cold shower suggestion is good, I think I’ll try that. Although the showers at the gym are at a set temperature, so it will mean coming home to shower. Meditating I’ve tried and I struggle to switch off but I’d like to have another go, any techniques you recommend?
I’m in a relationship, and don’t see that it makes a difference either way to be honest.

  4. just hang around in the men's locker room long enough and see the old guys walking around naked who just don't care anymore. That should stop kill any urge after a workout. :):D

But seriously, one thing I wonder is that when you did PMO, would you normally do it after getting home from the gym? Could it be your brain was used to it at that time and is still equating that time with PMO?

I work from home and workout during my lunch time. I have the same problem. I lost count how many times I have PMO immediately after a tough workout.
Since I quit PMO, that’s still a challenging time but I’m no longer in the habit. But, yes, I completely understand.

  7. I recently started doing transcendental meditation, it`s very simple form of meditation - look it up, there are plenty of videos on youtube, but basically you just sit still and repeat a mantra. It helped me relax and it`s the best form of meditation I tried so far, so you should give it a try. As for the cold showers, you got to do them every day to see the results, and use the coldest water possible, start with upper body first, I know - in the beginning it`s pretty hard and unpleasant, but after few weeks you body get used to it - I use cold showers every day for a 3-4 years now, and my immune system improved - I`m almost never sick, and when I am, I can go out and function without a problem. Of course it`s not just cold showers, it`s eating right, working out, sleeping on time... But for the urges it`s all in your head, you need to train your brain to erase that filth.

I absolutely will try the cold showers, thanks for the tip. And I’ll try the meditation too.
HA unfortunately my gym is full of young, fit, attractive people so that definitely doesn’t help!
I don’t think I was in the habit of PMO’ing after the gym, although I used to do it so often it probably did end up being soon after the gym unintentionally.

I’ve just come back from the gym now actually, went really hard, and I am absolutely exhausted. And I don’t want to take my sweaty gym kit off because I know I’ll probably end up PMO’ing!
