Too much masculinity or too much femininity based on gender should not be a social issue. There is no such thing as “toxic masculinity.” Rather, the concentration of masculinity or femininity no matter if low or high will never be toxic. If one believes in toxicity of expression of gender, then they must also abide by the term “toxic femininity” and not just “toxic masculinity.” I firmly believe that with heterosexual relationships the two mix and form a balance in the household. I doubt a woman would want a feminine man or a man want a masculine woman. As for the individual stating porn is based on misogyny, femdom and sissy porn is one of the largest sectors of the porn industry, leading to feminization of men. Regardless, what dioplleo is saying is right, it makes no sense for men to ally themselves with a group that hates them and wants to see masculinity redefined to suit their ends. Sorry, but women dont get to decide what masculinity is. Men do. I wont stand with a group that pretends I have power due to some imaginary "patriarchy" when I live in a country that values women over men in almost all cases and where the legal system itself is skewed to favor them over me.

 

Exactly, we should have the right to address any definition of masculinity leading to our compromise, or belittling us implicitly.

 

Over the years, the concept of female rights has been coopted from a movement that just wanted women to have the same rights as men (at the time this was happening rights were dependent on wealth and status, not gender, but that's a whole other can of worms) and turned into a movement that actively hates what men are, and seeks to elevate women by holding men back and belittling their experiences. The movement is made up of a lot of bitter femcels who are just angry at men because they have daddy issues, or woke harpies who have no idea about how the world actually works and screech about how it should be changed to suit them. The reasonable women amongst them are lost in this horde of angry lunatics.

These people want us to change what being a man is, and be held to a ridiculous standard they they decide, while suffering no expectation that they must do the same. An obese woman is a powerful queen, an obese man is a disgusting loser. A man with little sexual experience is a potentially violent alt right incel. A woman in the same position is just shy. I am by no means saying men dont have advantages women dont have. I'm not saying that at all. But I live in a country where Johnny Depp can lose a court case despite having objective proof that Amber Heard abused him. Literally lost because he is a man and she a woman. When stuff like that can happen to a man so wealthy and influential, I find it hard to accept women are as hard done by as some claim they are.

The very reason for this is how the old patriarchal society irrigated an image of men without any vulnerability, always at the top of the hierarchy no matter what, this why such cases are taken less seriously. Since in the eyes of the public, still influenced by many prejudices, men are stone hard robots. This is among the pillar beliefs of toxic masculinity.

If anything, feminists can contribute a lot to solve these issues more than people like you. Since we are opposed to toxic masculinity, and by making male vulnerability more acknowledged, in order for men to be recognized as victims in such cases like Johnny Depp's.
