So I have noticed a pattern occurring. I have long streaks like 180 days and then mutiple resets in a spam of weeks before I get my act together. Then it all happens again! Ive been through this process like 2-3 times.

Anyone experienced something like this before?

Start having sex after your reboot. Abstinence forever is not realistic and leaves the door open for binge relapses. Having sex wires your brain to positive sexual activity and outlets, and decreases your brain's propensity for porn over time.

Do I have to have sex in order to rewire?

Will stopping porn solve my problems?

How do I know when I’m back to normal?

Why is intermittent use (long abstinence with binges) an addiction risk?

Im not in a relationship and I believe in sex after marriage. I have never been in a relationship. Sex is not an option for me at the moment.

I can understand that having sex can really help with recovery and rewire the brain but looking at sex to stop relapses doesn't sound healthy. Your suppose to have sex with someone you love and are commited to, or you can run the risk of objectifying woman.

I believe there are people on here who have abstained from pmo for long periods without having any sex or am I wrong?

I recently asked myself the same thing. My streaks are shorter but have a similar pattern. Good few weeks or months, then fall off with several relapses, then get back the motivation eventually once things get bad enough.

I found a video that was a bit of a wake up call for me... My lifestyle was still lacking and I was not living my purpose.

I realised a few years ago now, that porn is not my problem, it's an activity I use to avoid the uncomfortable reality that my life is not what I want it to be.

I'm sure on this journey you've made a similar realisation. However, it may be the case for you, as I found it is for me, that there's not enough action happening to get to our ideal lifestyle.

Here's the link to the video. Was a real game changer for me. Nofap - This is why you always RELAPSE and Nofap DOESN'T WORK for you - YouTube

I would also add, relapses are not the end of the world, but just a reminder that there's still some changes to be done so you don't feel like escaping your reality. While I'm at it here's another video from the same guy on that subject. Nofap - A relapse does not mean all progress is lost - YouTube

The fact that you're doing longer streaks means these changes are likely to be just a few minor adjustments. See how you go!

As you're abstaining what goals are you working towards?

I think you may have hit the nail on the head here. I will check out the videos. Thanks.

have not had any goals that i have been working on recently. I achieved some of my goals while on my recent streak. But as of lately nothing has been penciled in terms of goals which I have been activaly working on. To be honest i dont know what goals to set. I can say that I have been feeling lost and unproductive in recent months.

Goals are essential to have. I am speaking in general terms. I can't tell you what goals to set for yourself but two areas where you can never let up are in the areas of physical fitness and financial prosperity? Are you as physically fit and financially well as you would like to be? Another line of thinking to help you in your goal setting is in setting goals that can be of benefit to other people. Maybe loved ones, a particular group of people, or society in general.
