So, are there ways to decrease libido?

  1. For some context, I've ALWAYS been really sexually active (and by that I mean I've been masturbating since I was 3 or so... I'm not really proud of that), and it's brought way more problems than expected. I'm addicted, not to porn, but to pleasure itself, and I want to stop it ASAP.

    I've been wanting to decrease my libido for a good while now, believe me that I would rather not have sex or think about it ever again, but I just can't stop it.
    So, the title question remains, are there ways to decrease libido? I'd love to know, because I'm kinda desperate.

    Edit: Also, ignore the counter if it displays anything other than 0, I was absent for a while

    Bro..Trust me, you wouldnt wanna reduce ya libido. Its a terrible experience.
    You thinking bout sex is totally natural. That’s how our body works. We were made to procreate.
    The only issue is that we abuse this mechanism because its pleasurable which in the long run damages our sexual health and affects us mentally.
    The true goal of NoFap is to maintain a normal, healthy sexual life. To be in control of your own libido.

  3. Yeah, I know, many people have told me that; and I'm not saying it's a lie, I know just how awful of a decision it is, but I truly don't care, I've wanted this for all of my life now and I am willing to sacrifice my libido

    It requires a different mind set. It is vital to stop fantasising about sex and naked bodies. The moment your brain goes down that path, yank it back to some unrelated topic. This depends on a lot of effort, but it pays off in the end. Also, avoid anything that triggers such thinking. You speak of sacrifice. You might have to sacrifice social media as a way to avoid stimulation of your sex drive. After all, you cannot remove libido, but you can learn to manage it and not be a slave to it.

    It is possible.
    Reduce your anxiety.
    Easier said than done.
    Meditation, breathing techniques, exercise, reading......
    It will take you some time , but it is absolutely possible.

    Go on a survival tour. Your libido will drop to 0.
    Or just walk for a few hours, it has similar effect.
     
  7. Thing is, social media isn't a problem. I only use Youtube, and never to watch sexual things in the slightiest. I'll do my best to use your tips though, as well as the things about lowering the anxiety and all of that.

    I believe you have to change your mindset towards recovery. This approach you taking is very dangerous
     
  9. i think exercise is a good one. Take walks, go running, and quit sugars and caffeine

    Licorice tea might help a little. You should limit to a couple of cups per day, because it has side effects on blood pressure or something.
     
  11. Can you please tell me what's so dangrous about this? I just don't want to feel sexual pleasure at all, I honestly don't see any problems (beyond having children and all of that, but that's a different topic).
    Believe me, sexual desires have become something undesirable and bothersome to me. It's not a matter of religion or anything like that, I'm willingly wanting to leave it behind. Hell, it's not even about the addiction anymore, it's something that I really can't explain.
    I get that you may be worried, but seriously, nothing would make me happier right now.

    Since no one here has been of any help - please allow me to chime in. Yes, there are ways to reduce your libido as I have done it when I was out of control and needed to re center. First of all, switch to soy milk rather than whole, less fat or even fat free. Next switch to soy beans rather than green beans. Next is soy protein. Next is sugary deserts. The idea is to raise estrogen which will lower your testosterone, which if you were like me, was incredibly way too high. Ah, also do not lift heavy weights or eat a lot of protein and make sure to do more cardio sessions. Try all this for only a couple of weeks and not long term at all. The idea is to shock the testosterone so your urges subside and when they come back you will hopefully have found something more interesting to do with your time so you can better manage those urges and tell yourself you don't need sexual arousal for happiness. Hope I've helped some :)

    Mine was always uncontrollably high but one day I must've reached some kind of fap limit and my libido shut down as a result, I do not recommend this strategy however.
