Urges when studying

I have an entrance exam in exactly 280 days from now. I need to study a lot to make sure i'm going to get approved, but my addiction sets me back a lot of times. Usually i get a lot of urges when facing a difficult subject on my study session, which sometimes led me back into PMO. In a good day i'm able to study 8hrs, in a medium day i'm able to study 6hrs, but recently i've been getting less than 3hrs.

Now when i get urges while studying, i get out of my computer and only get back to the previous task after a good amount of time has passed (which is slowing my progress), but i feel it is the correct thing to do.

I want your opinion on this matter, please.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, you have to accept that while you used to be able to study 6 hours a day you potentially might not be at that point right now with your PMO recovery. That is ok. Try to hit maybe 4 hours to start with and gradually work your way up. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, take it one day at a time.

    good luck on your exam!

Do you still indulge yourself with PMO?

  7. No for about a 100 days not anymore, but nothing different yet as to before.

To each his own, i guess this is the phrase that applies. I already went 90 days plus of no PMO and it worked out great for me. Hold on a little longer brother, maybe your wellbeing is just around the corner.

This is so relatable to me dude.

The last couple of days I’ve been finishing my college year and I’ve been too stressed, so I’ve been having monstrous urges to jerk off, not even to watch porn, but simply to masturbate and feel the dopamine push, so I can be relaxed. But as sb said before, I think when I’ve been stressed before, I’ve used PMO as an escape, instead of solving the problem.

So I don’t think stop studying is going to help, you’ll just have to flow with the stress, and not solving it through urges; cause I tell you, when I’m studying, my mind constantly flashes me with imaginations of me penetrating a girl or receiving a blowjob, but I immediately go back to my subject of study, and the thought eventually fades away.

My advice to you is don’t masturbate when you are stressed, but neither watch tv, YouTube or social media to keep yourself distracted; what you need to do is solve the root of the problem, so if you don’t understand something and that makes you stressed, look for a tutorial, talk to a mentor or simply re-study the material. If you focus too much on your thoughts(“I can’t do this”, “I’m stupid”, “I need to jerk off”), then you won’t be able to progress.

You are not your thoughts, you don’t control them as they come and go, but you can flow with them and choose to ignore vicious thoughts. So next time you’re feeling an urge, just keep studying, and put your energy on that textbook or that problem, instead on the stress.

Also, remember that you still need to honor Maximus fucking Decimus Meridius, look for strength in his character.
