Sorry if this thread doesn't go here. Well I've been thinking about this PMO issue from a transcendental point of view. I don't think that we are struggling with this and have found the NoFap for no reason.

I read this sentence once: "wherever a man's wound is, there is his treasure" or something like that, you get the idea.

Basically, I think that all of us have a mission, regarding the others. It's good to come here for counseling and help, of course. But it's also good to find a way to help others. A lot of people is suffering and we can do so many things. A good question to ask myself is "What can I do for the others so they can realize this slavery and fight it?", and when I do so I see a lot of possibilities.

Creating a website? A channel in telegram? Speak in public about this? Study? Spread the word to my friends, no matter what they think?

I don't know, as I said I think that there are a lot of chances, and a massive enemy to defeat. The good thing is that there are more and more of us over time. Still we need more and more warriors! I was quite active in Telegram once, and apparently it helped people, at least to question themselves about the addiction. I'm wondering about what to do next.

I think the people producing content on youtube for example are doing us a massive favor, at least for me it has been helpful when somebody explains what a flatline is and provides motivation and information with which I can survive through those dark times.

I think a good way to help people is talk about this, and make it public. We could write opinions on newspapers or other outlets, reach out to mental health organizations and try to voice our opinions there, discussion groups and peer support is also very important, so I think you have done a great thing when you went to telegram to talk about it.

We know we are doing the right thing, because it sure as hell is for the benefit of us all when even one person is freed from this addiction. When they are free, they maybe can then help others get free and in that way give back, and that can create a very positive effect.

I think we also have to share scientific information about this problem so everybody is well educated but also discuss the emotional side of things, and not only just science.

It is good to bring more awareness to this issue...but I'm pretty sure more than half of the people talking about NoFap have no F clue what it is like to get addicted to PMO! "F'ing clowns" is what I think to myself listening to some of the Youtubers telling us a story of how they overcame their P addiction. I'm sure there are a handful of them who were successful in beating it and wanted to share the wisdom with us.....but most of them are just using this topic to get more views and likes.

You're right. Some people are f*cking savages. They host these courses and whatnots for porn addicts and pump all the dollars from their pockets. I think open discussion is best and not just teaching people to count days and strategies to get to two weeks easily, but actually address all of the factors that cause this addiction and how to HEAL, not stay as an addict forever counting those day and relapsing every time. It's like Tinder is made not so you could find real love but so that you would be dating forever and paying the monthly subsctiption and they get rich and people stay without any real attachment to a person they love.

You used a good word there. Clowns. That's what they really are.

Yes true indeed .Anything which gives you instant pleasure and instant trust is either incomplete or not true.It is always 98% effort from your side.Truth of accepting yourself is the key and then only you will realize how powerful YOU are who you are fighting.

Yeah, I mean things that bring instant gratification can be used sometimes, but rarely (porn I think is an exception). If you are too harsh to yourself you probably will end up being miserable, but if you build your whole life on these false and incomplete sources of pleasure - remember this - you will crumble when bad times come.

Yes and the more you learn to know yourself and realize how much you're worth really, these temptations shrink and their control over you subsides. I think best thing that can happen after rebooting is that porn just no longer is a part of your identity, maybe that's real freedom.

I agree. If not real freedom, at least a sine qua non condition
