Imgur and Reddit as triggers?

    Hi folks,

    I enjoy using imgur and reddit as a lurker. But the communities there often bring up porn, masturbation, generally sexy women, etc. Usually pretty funny in my opinion. But do you guys ever intentionally not use these sites altogether to avoid relapse/triggers?

    The thing about reddit is that it is a different website depending on which subreddit you go to. It still seems like an unlikely reality that NoFap exists in this ecosystem - an ecosystem that hosted some of my favorite porn-sharing communities. You just have to be careful and operate in non-triggering subreddits.

    I'd probably stay far away from browsing imgur ;) All of the best content from there gets posted on reddit anyway.

    NP. Also consider that it isn't the worst thing in the world to take a break from something. If you feel like you can't handle the auto-pilot of using reddit and ending up in pornographic subreddits, maybe it would be beneficial to avoid it for a few months to reset.

    Ah yes. You may want to not fall into the same traps as me and in-deliberately 'trawl' with a internet search net (see what i did there?) on these sites (Steam client community is also a common haunt that is a bad habit i need to chuck) since it will and may have triggers that send you over the edge.

    A lot of triggers are depending on how you used to fap before hand.
    I read about a guy who used to get aroused when his parents left the house as his brain was trained to know thats when he masturbated.

    You cant get away from seeing a sexy lady or whatever but you can avoid place where you use to associate with your fapping.

    These are all excellent tips and really relevant to me!! Thank you. I'm one of those whose habit is derived from curiosity and searching - so I think you're all absolutely right that these places where I know I can't trust myself should best be avoided.

    Not sure, but if you wanna keep browsing these sites, maybe a parental control software can block the content you don't want :)
    Never tried tho, but you can give it a shot.
