    2 days.

Wake up at 11 at today, I guess I needed some extra sleep…

Spent the evening with some friends, talking about random stuff and drinking a few beers but kept it under control so it feels OK. I moved away from the city core in December so I don’t hang out with my friends very often now and I miss the company. Will try to spend more time with them, even though I don’t live very close to them.

Yes, it is very difficult to change ones habits..habits of the mind are no different. Taking an active step to writing out the reoccurring theme, and working towards a new way of thinking about it helps.

When it comes to comparison of others, it truly does not make sense. Everyones life experience is unique. If you live by comparison..well, chances are you are mostly comparing yourself to people who are seemingly better in those categories. Even at that, you cannot compare your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20. If both are at chapter 20, the story will still be different.

Day 0: Nazgûl (You were once a man, a King, now fallen to the power of PMO)

Woke up in a vomit filled bed after drinking an excessive amount last night. I got very belligerent and was texting some aggressive, weird messages to my friend. It's been a very long time since I was a heavy drinker, but I'm super disappointed in myself for going back. Plus another relapse regarding PMO... Alcohol and PMO... Two of my devils that bring out the worst parts of me.

I have this massive, dark void I've always needed to fill with toxic things. I don't understand why I do it. When I drink, all the awful darkness inside me comes out. I need to completely reinvent myself. I just feel like I'm at the lowest point I've been at for awhile.

  7. Day 1 complete!

@Pathfinder Lazarus I will indeed remember. Thank you!

@newbobido Hang in there, man. Our brains, our emotions, they're powerful. It's a very good thing for us in the long run, but it also means they can fight back powerfully. Take a deep breath. Now take another one. You're okay.

A single day is cause for rejoicing. That's one day in which these dark, addictive forces are denied their triumph. However, I can rejoice so much more. I want to stack up so many of these single clean days.

St. John Berchmans, pray for us!

    Day 68 complete.

Doing good. I feel very attracted to other women, I want to forget that other women exist. And focus on the one I have. I hink I need to focus not on her outside, because there are plenty of pretty ladies, but on her inside which is more inique. Anyway I shouldn’t loose my head for any lady and focus more on my mission.

I have been clean for 10days now and I feel really good about it. really proud.
I've never gotten this far outside or within this forum...
I watch this show called "single drunk female" and the protagonist has managed 7 moths of sobriety. her life is not perfect, but it is definitely better. It got me wondering how I will be at 7 months of "sobriety" or even 3 months! how will it feel?

    Hey Guys, checking in.

I spoke to my wife recently about my Nofap journey. The biggest thing that came out of the conversation was that I feel so ashamed of this addiction. It fills me with so much embarrassment that I can hardly talk about it and I would never dream about telling friends that I am a Porn addict. I read somewhere that addiction loves secrecy and I think that is so true. This forum helps for sure.

Day 363 no PMO. Read this info during my weight loss study work and thought it would be appropriate to share.

“SHAME AND GUILT - Are these emotions effective at creating lasting change for you?

Change IS hard - if it were easy, none of us would turn to coping habits as we do. Even though we know change is hard, we consistently make it harder on ourselves by thinking shame and guilt after a slip will turn things right around. Let's take the temperature a bit before going deeper here.

On a scale of 1 (never) - 5 (all the time), how often do you feel shame or guilt after a slip?

Consider a recent (or distant) experience where you felt shame or guilt after a choice you made.

Has beating yourself up ever helped you to make meaningful, lasting change?

Shame and guilt played a part in our past but now we can see how unproductive these emotions are. Having grace with ourselves is an effective weapon against shame and guilt. We're making big changes and that isn't easy so let's give ourselves a break if we have a slip-up and instead, look at what we can learn from this instance.”

It's normal and good to feel shame and guilt after wrongdoing, what is harmful is to stay in it. That's where repentance and forgiveness come to necessity -first repentance and then forgiveness.

    Checking in Fellowship Friends!

Day 395 free of MO and day 4 free of Porn.

I accomplished what I set out to do yesterday. My legs are a bit sore today , which means I had a fruitful workout. Aside from that, the urge to distract once more, presented itself in the morning and it seems it is bringing forth a bit of morning anxiety, or rather it's trying to be the remedy for my slight morning anxiety. Evidently, this is not an option.

My plan for today is to take it easy before the week commences, meditation, light reading and a bit of fresh air. It is still rather cold outside but very sunny for a nice change.

    Stay Strong!

    Day 3
Strong urges all day long, so instead of watching porn I’m kind of doing nothing. I have no energy and I’m just staying away from my phone and simply watching tv.

Not great, but at least I know that I'm staying away from relapsing.

  20. I know that feeling, had that last weekend after I had my own reset, couldn't be arsed to do much of anything. My advice is to practice a mix of meditation, cold showers, and workout (even if it's just a light one); they can be a slog when you're first starting out, but trust me, the results are worth it and you'd be surprised how much they work.
