  1. I feel the same way on most days, but then again on most days I have trouble looking directly at women because I am that shy around them I also relapsed today so I need to get better at solving my addiction first before settling with a woman.

Hope everyone is doing well. I'll be praying for those on this forum to continue in purity or maintain a reboot in bouncing back from setbacks. Hope you chose to get familiar with resources on here that other's mention or the sites puts forward. There's a program I've found help in addition to simply having accountability, settingcaptivesfree.com. This resource is a Christian tool for breaking free from addiction and patterns of sin by sharing the gospel and the transformative power that has in practical application for rebooting your life through regeneration. This power is kept simple and broken up into 30 days of course work followed by optional courses in purity follow-up for 60 days and gospel courses for 30 days. The Core Courses are doctrine based on the gospel and the purity bootcamp/follow-up are resources to understand how to change behavior that a changed life and committed to Christ. I don't want to start a thread on theology, but just to provide a tool that I have been using that has been a way to break free cognitively from distortions and unhealthy patterns on sexual health and sin. It's a tool like the accountability program and with the right understanding it can begin to produce change. I've had some setbacks after getting out of jail where I had about a month of purity and at best stretches 6+ months. With a proper view of life and the challenges life provides this tool can equip you for lasting victory. Accountability is another tool for success like 1 John 1 talks about. This course provides that and gets you out of the shadows where sin and guilt/shame can keep you from growth and freedom. I hope you consider settingcaptivesfree.com and Christ's ability to change your life and provide purpose beyond simply community or not self-gratifying. There's a big world and NoFap begins that process of developing healthy ways to engage that and women who share that space with us. Hope you guys have a pure and blessed weekend. Stay strong brothers.

Day 5. The coming 3 days are threshold days that I need to get over.
But right now I feel completely cool. Nothing bothers me. Everything comes and goes in cycles.
No urges last forever. I don't have to give in to "impulses". I won't get "too confident" either.
I know that just because things aren't tough now doesn't mean they won't become that later.

Seeing how successful others in this thread are with their streaks motivates me to keep going.

I try to remind myself that when I've passed a certain amount of days without any P or MO there's a "shift" where things get much easier.
This may depend on age but roughly I think it's around day 40 where I start to feel much better. On longer streaks I've heard other guys mention that around day 180 your "old self" (false self) really tries to get back to the old ways of destructive patterns.

NF is a matter of trusting the journey even if you can't see what's around the corner. As long as you stay on the road no accidents will occur and you will get back home to where you belong.

Yeah, it's easy for me to talk. Now I have to walk the talk. And I will.

  7. 5 days. I don't think I can ever go back to being a "casual" viewer of porn. I keep this in mind when I think about just "checking out a few sites" - I know it will lead to a binge and a downwards spiral into some of the worst stuff out there. No thanks.

  8. Hey friend here's a free handy breathing exercise that helps me with my anxiety. I try to do it once a day.

    Here, '02 Calming Breath Exercise'

Thought you and others might find it helpful. (The book it's from is really good btw.)

Day 3. Had a smooth day in prayer and investing in resources to break free in a lasting way. Encouraged by the reduction in physical urges and charge that comes with setbacks. I'm eager to keep investing in Christ and grow in maturity over sexual sin. It's been a battle that I need victory in that is sustained. Please pray for me and being a source of encouragement. It's heartening to see the varied levels of growth but resolve in pursuing freedom from this area of life that needs healthy views of women and self. I will keep praying for you guys to break free in a sustained way and to keep coming forward to get relief from addiction. It's a journey that is best served with the help of others. Stay strong and keep going.
