My teenage life ive had a lot of sleepless nights, probably due to my porn addiction. However these nights started to increase with Nofap. The OCD, anxiety and stress makes it difficult to sleep at night. Which makes me even more fraustrated and stressed. Not getting any sleep isnt good for my skin and my hair. Also not good that ive got tons of fucking assignments as well.

Again very aggravating. So ive got a question for those who were sucessful in Nofap. Who also had insominia as a symtom of their withdrawal. Did it stop or be reduced ?

  2. I have no idea if nofap helps with insomnia or not, but it sounds like your problem is stress-related. I've been in that position many times, because in a textbook overachiever who always bites off more than I can chew.

I'd recommend trying to reduce some of the stress in your life. Take a really good look at all of the things you're doing, maybe write them down, and see which ones make you feel stressed and which ones you could either limit or eliminate completely. You might be surprised to find that some things you have been doing or worrying about or stressing over are things you no longer need to have in your life. Of course it's entirely possible that you can't eliminate anything. I don't know your life, of course. But it's worth looking at.

Also, for insomnia, the vitamin melatonin can be helpful with that. And another thing that has helped me is reading at night before bed. And I mean reading some casual fiction, not something that makes your brain work too hard. I used to have a really, really hard time falling asleep, because my mind was just running a mile a minute every night. Partially because I had so much going on in my life, but also just because I have a huge imagination and I couldn't turn my brain off once my head hit the pillow.

So now I read at night, and it has been a magic fix for me. Some nights I seriously only read like half a page before my eyes and drooping and then I can set my kindle down and fall asleep easily. Reading helps me to turn off my mind easier, which was the thing that was keeping me awake.

Another tip I've heard of is to count, because something about the action of counting changes your focus from the right side of your brain to the left, or something like that, which is supposed to be helpful. You can count your breaths, which will help you take long, slow, deep breaths that will help relax you as well.

Hope some of those tips might help you :)

Its the OCD that I have that stresses me and thats due to my addiction and the current withdrawals im having.

  4. meditation & breathing exercises are a great way to declutter your mind at night. Also any type of white noise like a fan or sleep videos off youtube.

  5. OCD is a mental disorder. It's not caused by addiction, as far as I know. Have you been diagnosed with OCD, or are you just saying you have obsessive thoughts or something?

Undiagonosed. But the shit was dehabilitating and worsened within my teeangers years. However as I kept my streak on, it got lesser and lesser.

And yes I do believe theres a link between mential disorders and addictions...especially porn addictions. Since they weaken the brain in general, allowing it to be susceptible to such things.

Insomnia is a very common withdrawal symptom, and it will diminish as long as you continue to abstain from PMO. My first few months of abstinence caused a lot of insomnia, but it gradually got better.

Glad to see that we have the same streak! Keep on it!

Being on NoFap is gonna make you have more energy, that energy needs to go somewhere.
If you're on a 200 day streak and sit on your ass all day then your insomnia will still be there.

Go out, do sports, tire yourself so you can sleep well at night
