I will remind myself that. Everytime I say no I'm changing. Eventually if I win a lot of small battles it will lead to a victory of the war. I know this but somehow my brain doesn't get it. I'm edging as fuck and expect my brain to cut its cords to PIED.

Bro. 2 hell with quitting slowly. Quit immediately. Don't give evil a chance to manifest.

Something clearly got lost in translation, because I totally agree with this statement. You have to remove your willpower (i.e. white-knuckling) from the situation as much as possible. In a head-to-head contest between willpower (executive function, gratification deferment, etc.) and the primitive reward system, the latter wins almost every time — unless you're an experienced meditator, a highly disciplined athlete or something similair. Fapstronauts stand a higher chance of succeeding if they shape their external surroundings so as to remove as many triggers as possible — in other words, denying the primitive reward system any opportunities to beat the willpower. Not only that, finding ways to put "sand in the gears", so to speak, or introducing "frictions" into the environment that make acting upon your cravings much harder and more annoying is also something that shouldn't be neglected.

The fundamental thing is your environment. Environment, environment, environment. The NoFap community — one heck of a constructive environment if there ever was one — plays a very useful role in the lives of fapstronauts for precisely this reason.

The p-subs seem to be a bit fuzzy to me. For instance is reading a good book that contains some descriptions of making love and sex also a p-sub? I experienced getting aroused just by reading a story. And the Internet and advertising everywhere is just full of p-subs too. For me it's close to impossible avoiding an accidental sight of a p-sub. My tactic? close that website, walk away, take a deep breath, drink water, punch. If I repeatedly encounter p-subs on a website, just put it on my black list. Especially news websites in their bottom part are always full of p-subs. I'm trying to solve that trigger by avoiding news websites, instead I listen to radio and get the economist magazine by regular mail to keep myself up to date on world affairs.

I don't have trouble with hiding p-subs. My new shift in addiction is that I can't stop dry humping the bed. :/

Thank you PureHeart for the above quote. I go through periods where I really miss that pleasure; doping, lazy, totally relaxed feeling I got from masturbating. Then there are times I don't think of it at all... for days. It is going against our nature... man, this is true! Today is one of those days where I miss that old feeling. I have to read this site to help out on those days. Thanks again.

You have to cut it out of your life:

Whether that is taking a break from your devices,
limitng your time on your laptop, our whatever you use,
    Etc.

I have experience, and the porn subs were what always got me before I got this big streak.

Also, stop fantasizing. It's hard for me to believe you're just like, "Hey, I'm going to watch some videos that aren't porn, but I'll treat like porn..."
There's probably a big chain of events... you get tempted, you start thinking about doing it, you start fantasizing, then you're watching your porn subs...

    Does that help?

How about fully clothed or in bikinis - psubs or porn?

  11. The problem isn´t porn but your ADDICTION to porn.
If you use naked women bikini or other fetishes or substitutes or whatever - it does not matter.
Be honest with yourself and don´t try to stop watching porn, try to stop the addiction.
The includes sexual urges and or fantasies.

Because of porn I got such a high standard of women it is not normal. I think this counts for most fappers. At some time we have to stop with this silly PMO and enter the real world. A healthy guy should be able to bang a 6 no matter what. At the moment I can't bang a 6 to save my life.

Whether you think it is funny @Christopher Palmieri or it concerns you @atak, prone edging/masturbation is something to cut out. "I can't stop dry humping the bed" is just as defeatist as saying 'I can't stop rubbing my dick with my hand'!

I can avoid doing something, but l don't think it's even possible to stop thinking or fantasizing about something. It can be minimized for sure, but the thoughts in my brain (like feeling hungry, sad, frustrated...) cannot be absolutely controlled. I hope that abstaining from pmo is enough to fight my addiction.. Avoiding all thoughts about sex seem to be too extreme. But l agree that intentionally trying to think about sex or visualizing porn scenes in my head doesn't help and probably slows down the reboot process.
