    I’m sure this has been answered before, but this morning I peeked then started to M and pre-O a little bit. I gained some control over myself before I completely Orgasmed.

    I know this is basically a relapse but was I better off going till completion or was I better off stopping halfway through?

    The orgasm is just the end of the process. Doesn't matter if you orgasm or not, what is actually wrong is making the decision to watch porn and masturbate to it.

    I’m going to be way easier on you. First, it’s just a reset, not a relapse. You’re still in this fight. Relapse is when you consciously quit. Second, even though what you did is less than ideal, stopping before O was better than going for it.

    You’ll be suuuuuuper susceptible for a while, but if you can make it a couple days longer, I’d call that a huge win.

    Yeah I agree with @Meshuga, you've got to start counting your victories. It's too easy to focus on our failures in recovery, but that is the wrong approach. Celebrate your victories and focus on the improvement you're making. Obviously actually make improvement.

    If you can pull it off, it's better to pull back and not complete the act. It's all about rewiring the brain. Thus, any and every micro-action doesn't need to resort in full relapse. Eventually, the brain is trained more and more to pull back altogether, and then even from the initiating micro-actions so that you don't go there.

    Appreciate the answers guys, just to give a quick update I did go the rest of that day without PMOing it felt like I had all the negative effects except brain fog which kinda just put me in an odd mood for that day. I was mainly upset that I did that after like a 5 day streak so that’s why I was freaking out about it.


    I’ve got a horrible morning routine that puts me in a very vulnerable situationthat now I know that I have to genuinely commit to changing that routine to help me get better. I have unfortunately had a full relapse this morning BUT there is one positive I am trying to focus on, I am currently 3 days sober from marijuana and I am genuinely proud of that(to give a little context I work at a dispensary so my access to Weed is basically unlimited). Next goal no more long mornings spent in the bathroom with my phone before I go to work. I’m thinking about replacing my smart phone with a wisephone. Does anybody have any experience with wise phones?
