  1. I don't know how to say, but many so called Medical News websites seem to be biased when comes to semen retention. They are usually seen as supporting masturbation and often saying that Nofap is overhyped.

While at the same time I don't believe in what they share to the masses. What's your view on this point ?

    • Notice the excessive use of the words MAY and CAN across all three points made here. That's intentional. What's implied is that the science, which today is total bullshit anyway, is far from settled on the matter. It would serve us to never forget the days when doctors encouraged smoking and, more recently, the consumption of "fat free" food.
    • So called sex therapists are nothing but clueless wannabes. They are not doctors or scientists or researchers or healers or gurus of any kind. They have zero knowledge of the body and mind as holistic systems. They should not be taken seriously under any circumstances. They are essentially shills who tell people what they want to hear. "Go ahead, indulge in all kinds of sex all you want... it's perfectly normal and healthy!"
    • The actual "harm reduction strategy" these people are pushing is the depopulation agenda. They're transparent enough about this one, though. But them wanting to convince people that masturbation is beneficial in order for us to sLoW tHe SPrEaD of STDs is nothing short of hilarious considering what a huge industry that is.
My guess is that the article above was written by a MD. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a self administered FACT CHECKED stamp of approval.

I think there is some truth to sperm count, but the study only observed once in 4-7 days before a decline. And the decline was NOT massive. It's not like if you don't use it you lose it. It's just our bodies adapting. If you find a potential mate and are seeing them regularly, your body is going to make a few more progeny cells to take advantage. It's similar to how if a woman is breastfeeding and she feeds more than one baby, her body starts to make more milk to adjust.

Now they take one metric, increased sperm count, and use that to try and convince the masses that frequent masturbation is the most healthy way to navigate life and everyone who isn't should be educated, that's a total farce, a push with ulterior motives. Life and health is way more than sperm count, and like I said, it'd go up anyway if you were abstinent or less frequent and then switched back to the 4-7 day period. I think it's a good factoid to keep in your back pocket for when you're trying to get your woman with child, but not something you need to build your life around.

Rather far fetched claims, esp it both improving your sex life and helping you remain abstinent.
Worth noting that, like most articles like this, masturbation is talked about only in an abstract way, with no mention of eg pornography (imo by far the greater evil), addiction and compulsive behaviour, and technique (the dreaded "death grip" vs less damaging techniques).

There really isn't any settled science on the effects of sexual abstinence and there isn't a lot of serious research being performed on it. There is also a large cultural push to support "sexual liberation" which will unfortunately cause some prejudice among a number of the scientists looking at this sort of thing.

A lot of our modern ideas on sexual wellness come from Kinsey, who had some serious issues with the methodology for his research if you look into it. Dude was kind of a nutjob, but he told people what they wanted to hear so naturally he became very popular.

Basically, we don't really know the pros and cons of nofap from a scientific standpoint, but as a general rule it is better to be abstinent than to be an addict.

  7. An article i read on kinsey a whlie back stated that is research was heavily skewed to make sexual deviations more popular than what we define as vanilla sex.

Due to that pornography has boomed and put sex of all aspects into our homes and phones.
