Severe insomnia is killing my streaks.

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Jul 16, 2022.

  1. It’s roughly 2:02AM right now.

I’ve relapsed earlier tonight and I have watched a few videos… I’m believing it’s because I have started to have severe insomnia which is making me want to fap for release for the sake of being relaxed.

I was in bed for the morning unfortunately I had another headache and I woke up around 9:30am and laid in bed until 2:30PM. On and off sleeping.. Not sure if this is why I was screwed. But I can’t make it a day recently and thus suffering from distress of not being able to shut my body off and sleep.

I’ve tried everything. Sleep music, eye patches, putting my phone in another room becoming more busy during the day and exercising. I’m almost at my wits end..

Not sure what to do anymore.. I know and realized my Insomnia is making me more subjective to PMO..

I want a dream of having 90 days in the books for a streak, right now I feel it won’t happen. Everything is shit and it needs to be flushed…

love you guys and I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Can you drink some milk? That usually helps...

  3. I will give this a try tonight, but not sure how successful it will be.

I'm abstaining from taking melatonin since I get nightmares from taking it. Last time it messed with me pretty good with un settling dreams.

    Thank you.

  4. Make sure the milk is warm, so it goes down smooth and your body doesn't have to expend energy changing it's temperature.

How long was your streak before the insomnia kicked in?

I downloaded one of those breathing apps that you follow along to. There are loads of different ones, breathing for alertness, concentrating etc but I only use the sleep one. I follow along to the sleep one twice, as the first time doesn’t usually make me tired enough, 2nd time around does.

never in a million years did I think it would work but it does

  7. There is no cure all for insomnia but there are plenty of methods out there that can help.

Exercise or hard work can make it easier to go to sleep.

    Meditation before bed.

    Sleep supplements are another option.

It's important to try everything out for yourself and find out what works for you. Be patient, problems may not go away as soon as you find a solid solution, progress takes time.

Life long insomniac here. I feel your pain tremendously.

First question - does PMO actually help you get to sleep or are you still awake for a while after?

Something to keep in mind is that the blue light on your phone that you’re watching porn on is only screwing with your brain and keeping you awake longer. Now to mention the stimulation that you need to come down from.

    My suggestions:

No tv or phone at least 2 hours before bed.
If possible, don’t use your bed or bedroom for anything other than sleep (I know this is impossible for some)
Read before bed. Self help books in particular
Meditation before bed (it’s difficult at first… keep trying)
    CBD and/or thc drinks.

Milk, particularly warm milk, is so gross. Drink tea!

Keeping my room cold as everest, a hot bath/long shower, and military relaxation exercises in bed, usually does the trick for me.
